Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

I like them and the shields, however, they seem a bit impenetrable. The design for the ships is nice and, except for the smallest one, they seem pretty fleetish to me.

Believe it or not they are not invulnerable, each shield plate can only take a set amount of damage before it breaks. you have to go over said damage to remove it ;P.

Example, the scouts and frigates can only take about 20 to 25 or so damage on any given shield plate, Thus about 5 blasters and one gat blaster all shooting at the same time kill it rather easy. If you have any better way of making a glowing wall of shielding that protects the ship until it breaks without using crap loads of deflectors... I'm all ears.

The general theme is that most of the ships have an industrial feel to them, ie the wings and overall shape and armor positioning make for a rather industrial feel ;P.

The U.G.T.O are more of a smooth and sleek combat tested and battle worn look.

@ArcaneDude: Ya, I love it. I stole it from someone on another forum because it's just so awesome. And don't worry about the size because I'm not gonna change it (meaning I don't know how and don't want to spend the time and effort to find out how).

Now, on topic:
I'm glad about the shields and I was hoping that that was what you had done. However, 20 to 25 can take one blaster shot and then 3 to 8 more damage, so if you want them to break from five blasters, set their life to 85. Also, you've gotten your industrial feel fairly down to pat which is good. One more thing, is the big one the biggest in the fleet? Or will there be bigger ships?

The dreadnoughts are the biggest ship hulls, however, the stations are almost 2x the size of a dreadnought, Sadly the only way they can move however is from the Hyper mass accelerator, just don't be near them when they do jump.. it could be painful.

The weapons go as follows starting in classes.

You have two different parts to the class.. the first part is the size and the second is the type, example, Micro particle gun (prefix and suffix determines the general ability's of said weapon) that micro p gun would be a weak rapid fire short range gun that most any ship can mount.

list of the sizes and types:
micro
small
medium
large
huge
core (core being super weapon mount)

gun
chain gun
cannon
chain cannon
heavy cannon
light missile
medium missile
heavy missile
light torpedo
medium torpedo
heavy torpedo (think mini-nuke)

Then you have the weapon class itself, there are different types of weapons, list as follows:
energy
projectile (same as energy however uses a physical projectile instead of a bolt of energy... ie rail gun/particle gun)
beam
ballistic
exotic (special weapons that are rare and hard to find... most of the time these are new and or experimental weapons

Now on to the weapon list ;P
particle
rail
gauss
ion
emp
chemical laser (you have light medium and heavy variants)
plasma caster (one of those exotic weapons ;P)
IT missile (nasty little buggers)
AR missiles (REALLY nasty little buggers)
Proton cruse missiles (don't get hit.. those hurt like hell)
Flux beams

I would have more things listed here.. but I can't think of anything to add >_<

Can we get some action shots? I'd like to see some of these weapons killing stuff.

Yea the ships themselves look nice but the shields just mess everything up. You can try to make Aegis targeting lines less apparent by changing their shield colour to black. I think that might work.

I was thinking of making a money based tournament setup.. were you earn "moneys" based on winnings and you can use them to modify things like cannons and whatnot or add more armor.. hull and so on

if you are interested i will start work on the rules ;P

I like the gattling pulse guns but I suggest that you make them a bit lighter blue. I don't really like the white blasters but I love the beams in the last pic, they look so killy.

As for the money system, it sounds cool and I hope you can do it but it also sounds like a lot of work.

If i were to make a mandible dreadnought it would be by far a hell of a lot more powerful with beams.

In other news, my personal fleet formation with my modified AD.

Oh and as you can see there is a new ship ;P i finished the dessy hull so now to get different classes all i need to do is just change the armor/weapon loadouts and we are good to go :P.

Also how are the U.G.T.O ships coming? i would like to see some heavy armor compared to the armor i have on these things ;P.

Anywhoo, working on a command station so i might be gone for a while :D.
