Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!
Reports are filtering in of a new battlegroup of ships moving into the inner system. This picture, taken moments ago by a communications satellite near Regulus IV, is the only image we have of this new contender in the galactic arena. Are they friends or are they foe? Only time will tell. Meanwhile, General Cornelius is ramping up defenses around key planets in anticpation.......

Hello,
This is my first custom ship so far. I've tried not to make an overly powerful ship as I see on here a lot. This ship usually dies quickly against a nagaya3 but can take down an athena fairly regularly.
Finaly, someone else who doesn't use re-sized sections.

I would have to say it is more armed then an Athena - having the deflectors as well as aegis deflectors - but since it's bigger then an Athena, I guess it's okay.
From the outer reaches of the galaxy comes an older class of ships once thought obsolete. Heralding from a time before alien shield technology took over ship design these rugged ships are the pinnacle of armored firepower. Relying purely on armor plating and the almost suicidal stubborness of their captains the Ensis class battleship fearlessly hurls itself into battle not afraid of loosing chuncks of it's hull to accomplish it's goals.
This is the beginning of a new fleet of armored ships. The Ensis and the others to come have been balanced tested against the canon ships. The Ensis can easily take down ships like the cronus but shielded foes like the athena give it a really hard time. Having absolutely now point defense whatsoever makes this ship vulnerable to mulitple smaller ships and drones whilst it's armored design also makes it's inner core susceptible to rail gun fire and beamers due to penetration. Every piece and weapon has stock stats except for a few firing arc tweaks.

I would suggest increasing the Ensis' HP to account/compensate for it's lack of PD and to increase the effectiveness of all that ablative armour, myself. Interesting look/effect there, and very nice use of the small parts.
