The Awesome Epic Music Thread

-----------------------------------------------------------------

This thread is reserved for epic music. In here, you can post (and politely discuss) links to what you think of as epic music. Be it metal, classical, filmmusic, trailermusic or the newest track of an underdog band only you seem to know, post it here. If anyone has a request for a certain track they just can't seem to find, post it here as well, we'll see what we can find.

Needless to say, if you've made some music yourself, don't hesitate to post it here, but no other forms of advertising please. Just as needless to say, no illegal DL links or I'll make you eat your gnads. Also, show some good sense of humour; no rickrolls.

Manic Street Preachers - A Design for Life

Yes, they're socialist, but they're awesome. Take a look at some of their other tracks before the Youtube police remove everything.

Just about anything by Jeremy Soule. Particularly anything from Supreme Commander.

Was wondering why "Jeremy Soule" sounded familiar... Secret of Evermore.

Immediate Music: "Trailerhead" gives away what they do, and it's their one album under the name Immediate Music. There's also Globus, which is basically Immediate Music remixing their tracks for public release, though dunno what that means now that they have Trailerhead. Wasn't a big fan of who they used as their lead singer, but they did have tracks like:

As far as Jeremy Soule goes, I prefer the Total Annihilation soundtrack. I've been looking for a way to get it integrated into SupCom for a while now, with minimal success. If you're into the instrumental/orchestral stuff, Philip Glass is quite good, as is Bear McCreary; my personal preference leans toward the latter. The Battlestar Galactica (the new one) soundtracks by Bear McCreary are absolutely ace.

http://www.grooveshark.com is an excellent source of free, legal, streaming music. In my experience, they've had just about everything I've searched for, and due to the nature of their service, it's all generally very respectable as far as quality is concerned. Interface is excellent as well. Check it out if you haven't seen it before.

Dead End, Lightning Speed, Fire Youngman and Warning Line are still my favourites from what is still one of my favourite games, Ace Combat 2.

Also worth mentioning Is Steve Jablonsky's Heroic Assault and Hope Runs Deep, from Gears of War 2.

A good bit of Orff's Carmina Burana is epically epic.
O fortuna
Fortune Plango Vulnera

Some of Juno Reactor's tracks, especially Neodammerung

I also found Kouya Ruten surprisingly interesting, considering using it for something.

Cycerin's music. It's awesome. By the way, Cycerin, can I use your music in my game? I'll give credit.

Deus Ex! One of the best soundtracks ever!
But you forgot the best C&C track: Hell March

Also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtdQ5roMuEA (System Shock, Engineering)
Hated by (the) many, but since I'm a bit of a drum & bass nut I always liked this track best. It isn't the most scary one, but it really got my blood pumping (or it was the game, which is... eerie). Pretty epic in my view.

Also: Terminal Velocity, Desert
The game itself is a simple Sci-Fi Action Flightsim, but some of the tracks still rock my mind. For simple 30 s loops, that's epic. Now busy re-creating (and after that, remixing) some songs in FL studio. They're even downloadable as .mods! from the 3D Realms stie!

EDIT: almost forgot, Dimmu Borgir is epic too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joEAb_y7ZYA (but the clip is leik, totally laaaaame)

I'm more into instrumental music. One of my favorites from earlier this year is "Chaoz Impact" by ParagonX9 on Newgrounds.
