As the fleet I was working on has reached 30 ships, I feel it is time for me to get a propper tread for it, since I had no control over the previous thread. I will now introduce you to the result of my work, in order to get feedback from you, submitting it to your judgement.

All ships are in scale to each other in both size (the uploader has changed the size of some of the pictures, so size relation between different pics is not consistent. The scale is fine ingame, however) and power . Starfuries and other fighters are represented by drones. From all the weapons listed in the many fonts I have consulted, the only weapons that have been implemented are those seen on the show.

In addition, I will provide the download link for the fleet, now that the database is working again.

Now, let me introduce the fleets, based on nearly all the ships seen on the show from any faction that were between 200meters long and 3km long.

The truth is I can't think of any more ships to build -well, I still have the Lumati Luxury Yatch pending, but I don't think it counts- that fit in the size criteria I am using. so now, I am doubtful. Drahk ships are sooo massive and flat that I doubt they would end being cool, due to the sheer area that must be completed with sections. I thought about the Shadow Hybrid too, but its size is comparable to the Victory class... so same problem.

I would like to make some extra things, since I built civilian vessels too. For instance, it would be cool to have a jumpgate for you to put in your scenarios. Or the narn station the raiders used in season one. Or the Narn Station destroyed by shadows. Maybe the centauri station of season one, episode one? The problems with these things are:

1) Lack of good views to use as builder backgrounds (which can be resolved)
2) Lack of information about size (which unfortunately, can't be resolved)

So if anyone thinks I should make a ship I have not made yet, or is willing to search information about the size of any vessel, please post it and I will do what I can to bring it to the game.





My main goal was to provide you with enough resources to create interesting B5-centric scenarios when the mission maker comes -or even with the encounter majer-

For instance, you already can build a scenario about the attack of the whitestar fleet against the omega-x that almost cost Ivanova her life -you know, with that speech-. Or one about the batle from the episode Endgame, where the multiplanetary force directed by sheridan destroyed Earth's last ships loyal to president Clark and saved it from the Aegis Defense Platforms. You have all the ingredients required.

What about an Earth Minbari War scenario? or a Narn Centauri war. Or even the battle of Coriana 6 as an encounter?

I for one was thinking about a certain campaign with a storyline I have been developing. It's rather heavy on storytelling, and I won't be able to have it out until the mission maker gets better. I am sure Th15 will amaze us with the potential of that tool too.

And now, to the good part. Have you tried to shoot the mass driver against something big, such as a narn G'Quan? or even better, a Victory Class Destroyer? now tell me it doesn't feel great to see the asteroid slicing trhough the ship unless it is evaded. And if your enemy is big, it won't be easy. A well directed shot, and you can leave the Victory with no weapons by cutting it in half.
That is what I understand by "A weapon whose use is forbidden in war by treaties." You need to have a reason to not to want anyone to use it against you xD

THAT THING IS HUGE.

3 victory class destroyers wouldn't fit in the shipbuilder. And you are asking me to build a ship which almost 15 times bigger????? That is the reason of why I don't build the Babylon stations: those things wouldn't fit in the shipmaker and surelly wouldnt work ingame. Did you notice already how the game stops for some seconds trying to load a Victory? imagine the loading wait for something more than 15 times bigger, if it ever gets to load without crashing.

So it is not going to happen. For the same reason I left out B5, B4, and the Earth Exploration Ship.





On a sidenote, I realized there is one more ship I have not built yet:

presidential ship for the Earth Alliance. Destroyed under misterious circumstances.

The problem is I can't find any data for how big it is. Do you think you can provide me with this data? I know it's fairly small, since it always flies with presidential starfuries and i can make a comparison, but I'd like to see a definitive number to work with.

I could also consider bulding the Liandra, the Valen, the Ipsha warglobe... I'd like to do the Stribe too. What would you like to see first?

The Drakh might be worth giving a try.

If I remember correctly the Drakh's flagship is some 80 clicks long, the Vorlon Planetkiller being I believe 66...

That is probably true. That thing was so huge that could launch carriers from its sides like if they were fighters.


Just in case someone wonders about the scale of the ships, here is the main size reference I used for this fleet. If someone wants his fleet to be in scale with mine (so we can have starwars vs b5, or b5 vs startrek, or whatever you want), you can use it.

Now, let's show some progress: here are 2 more ships:

The Alliance Liandra Class Patrol Cutter (from The Legend of the Rangers)
and the Earth Alliance "Earth Force One"

The escorting fighters which are always surronuding the Presidential Ship ("Earth Force One") have been represented by low HP point defense guns.

The Liandra features it's omnidirectional fast shooting cannons controlled from the holographic chamber.

The Drakh mothership was 60 km in length. But It's not their only ship.

I have updated the main post and the download link. You can now download the 32 ships.

I don't believe the drakh cruiser -the only one small enough to be done (and it would be as big as the victory) is worth the work on it. I don't think I could come with something worth looking at. Its area is too big and... "uniform" or "bland" to get it with an acceptable degree of repetition, at least for my current skills on shipmaking.

And I can't find any other b5 ship wich would be worth the work, or is well documented enough for me to build it, in the scale between 200m and 3km.

So I have a question for you: Would you like me to go with another TV series? do you have any suggestion of a sci-fi fleet you would like to see? Would you like me to build a custom fleet? What would you preffer?

I would love to see some more of the Babylon 5 ships from the games based on them, which are quite in keeping with the fleet styles & universe(especially the original Agents of Gaming; a little less the new ships from Mongoose Publishing)
