I've noticed that people have animations of their ships as animated .gifs. Is that a function of fraps, or what? How do you make them from your ship animations?

EDIT: To clarify, I have a program for making animated GIFs, and I know how to make them from a set of frames. What I don't understand is where you get the frames. Obviously, you can't just screencap every frame. So how do you get all the frames?

You know, I've read through that, and I don't know how I missed that section. Weird. Thanks, though!

also, sorry for wrong section. thought general would be better since this isn't really about making ships, just taking pretty (animated) pictures of them.
