I get this problem when making large uber-ships:

When making a very large ship, the outermost sections glow in-game with what looks like a aegis glow but with a large spread i.e. you see a shimmering ghost image of the section a few pixels away from it. Setting diable glow for the section fixes the problem.

The ships have no actual aegis or boosting at the moment and I have not given the sections in question any effect settings. My PC seems to have no problem, ticking over at a steady 30fps.

Any idea what causes this?

I'm aware that turning of glow fixes the problem, however, to elaborate: If I make a small ship (say, 5 sections) there's no problem, even with glow kept on.

If I make an huge ship (e.g. 10 x the size of a Hecate) then the outermost sections give off the ghost image, and I have to turn off glow for all these sections.

I don't mind having to manually turn off glow in each section, but am I doing something wrong in the ship design? Is it just glitch in BSF meaning you have to disable glow in any ship beyond a certain size?

Any sprite larger or smaller than 80x80 pixels does this, IIRC.
I'd just set glow to black in the game options, it's not exactly pretty anyway.
