Sythiar Heavy Cruiser (With Pic's)

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Sythiar Heavy Cruiser (With Pic's)

Post by Tal_Shiar »

Hi,

I just downloaded the game two day's ago, and enjoyed it so
much that i made my own ship model.

I'm pretty proud of my ship, unfortunately, the exterior wings seem a
little clippy. I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions as how to
fix that.

Also, i have the ship download right here.

I would not mind if others download my ship and edit it a bit. In fact, i encourage it hope that those who do post the edited ship back on this site. Gradually improving the design along the way.

I also tried to make this ship balanced in the game. The ship was designed to have a strong point defense. But weak against beam weapons.

Since you're using the new shipmaker, you might as well use some f the new more detailed sections to replace those ugly stretched ones on the wings. If you don't know how to access those sections, press the 'tilde' key (~) then press 'Z', then use 1,2,3 and 4 to go to each of the section groups. You'll find a lot more than the stock 24.

And of course, welcome to the community.

The stretching on those wings looks really bad, try using more sections instead.

Also there is a ship database.

I had that problem when I did my first (and only) ship. I found that if you KEEP the wings EXACTLY where you want them, you can easily add parts over the top (more sections) to give it look and variance, but keeping the original shape and lines of the part your using now, so it doesn't change the look (if you don't want it to). Also, if you actually play with the ship, the outer parts will blast off first, like armor plating, so no need to even remove the original. Just build over the top.
