I don't really like the scout because it look way to different from the rest of the ships.
I'd like to raise a few points that you can improve on.
1) Try to keep a consistent shape for your ships.
2)Do try to use different weapons.
3)Come up with a better fleet name.
4)Make your ships more colourful.
This may help. Really!
Have a laugh or two.
Good luck!

All I said was if you put that top one against a vanilla battleship or something it would be a close fight
How does a mini-destroyer kill off several vanilla battleships and not be overpowered

He's saying that he thinks you, MegaJohnny, think that if a ship is similar in size, then it is similar in all respects, i.e. firepower, shielding, propulsion, what have you.
One flaw in your argument, BizzareCoyote, is that your Hrimfaxi destroyer is custom, most likely with custom weapons, perhaps even wank weapons. Mega is referring to a fight with a vanilla ship, with which size does mean stronger.[/u]

Ok, I lost track of who said what a while ago, but here's the way it is to me.
1. Custom ships cannot be judged relative to stock ships, unless the custom ships are designed to be balanced to stock ships.
2. If your custom ship is smaller than a stock ship and can destroy several stock ships, there is no balancing error. My gunboat can wreck a Cronus. My destroyer is significantly larger than a Cronus and can destroy an almost unlimited number of them. There is no balancing error because my destroyer gets utterly and rediculously trashed by my battleship.
3. Size does not matter. If you try to argue otherwise, explain to me how an infantryman with a rocket launcher can defeat a tank, or how a tiny spider can kill a human.

These custom ships look pretty damn close to stock ships, unless the blasters are modded or something.Slayer0019 wrote: 1. Custom ships cannot be judged relative to stock ships, unless the custom ships are designed to be balanced to stock ships.
He said nothing about his custom ship blowing up several ships. He said one.2. If your custom ship is smaller than a stock ship and can destroy several stock ships, there is no balancing error.
Size matters with certain things. There are some scenarios where size DOES matter. But, with stock ships, size matters. The larger the size of a stock ship, the more firepower they normally receive.3. Size does not matter. 1. If he said his ships were meant to be stock balanced, then fine. However the vast majority of all ships are not stock balanced, so it saves everyone time to just assume the ships are not stock balanced. If he states otherwise, then I will consider his ships balanced against themselves.
2. That's actually where I lost track of things, so I don't know how many or what or where. I just stated my own general guidelines, as I actually said in the first line.
3. Again, we come back to whether they are stock balanced, which I already talked about. That point generally referred to specialists, i.e. bombers, ECM craft, PD boats, and the like. Yes, the Cronus is big and powerful, but the Oenone carries nearly as many beamers, and the Enyo I think actually outguns it, by sheer firepower. Then the Eos is barely armed at all besides a few Plasma charges and lots of particle guns.

The ship on top is good, but would better IMO if you had the section 6s behind the section 3s.
The middle ship could use something "extra" to fill in the space behind the section 22s and in front of the section 1s, perhaps a section 4 or 5. Also, one of the section 1s is overlapping the other, this is probably a mirroring error. To fix this, delete its bottom counterpart, move the piece up until its end is on the parenting line, and then mirror. The default Shipmaker background isn't very helpful when precision positioning is required so I recommend downloading this better blueprint background made by BoVinE. To use it, open the image in MsPaint or any other image editing program and save it as a .bmp, then open the Shipbuilder click "View" on the toolbar and then select "Change Background". Then just find wherever you saved the .bmp of the background.
The ship on the bottom is probably the most promising of the whole batch, but I think that if you moved the section 20s on the front of the ship higher and farther to the left, I think they might look better.
Overall, these ships are much better than your first batch. The coloring looks like it could use a little work though. Personally, I'd ditch the ship in the middle and start trying to build a ship style/fleet around the ships on the top and bottom.

In my humble opinion, many of the problems this ship has arise from the 22s. They are too big/blocky/bricklike to use on a creation as small as this, especially when left uncovered, and when used as almost stand-alone sections. Try replacing them with something else, see how it looks, and then keep tinkering.saded9812 wrote:

The thing that annoyed me was the color scheme. And really, get rid of the 22s. They are one of the parts that you must think very carefully about before using.

Multicolored rainbow ships!
Now then.
The middle ship looks like a bad remake of the Hestia. The 22's really do not help the design. The two wings overlap quite a bit when they get connected to the core.
The bottom ship bothers me for some reason. No idea why.
The top ship looks like a bad remake of the Sinope. With pulses and lasers.
