Armageddon's Scribe

Post by Bad Boy »

I've finished it, here are pics and a download. The download is an rar file containing both the .shp and the .sb3 files. Anyway, here's the download for the Armageddon's Scribe

Just for the hell of it, here's a shitty backstory I cooked up in about ten minutes so I wouldn't lose points in the Beauty Pageant:

Code: Select all

Created billions of years ago by the remnants of now long dead race of highly advanced, highly spiteful, aliens, whose belief was that if their species should die, so should all others, Armageddon's Scribe, along with it's sister ship, The Bringer of The Armageddon was designed to inflict misery and suffering upon any and every living creature it encountered (neither of them have crew, and are operated entirely by a bank of supercomputers). Fortunately for every living species, The Bringer of The Armageddon malfunctioned and attempted to destroy its sister ship. Armageddon's Scribe was able to destroy it, but suffered extremely heavy damage. It took millions of years for it to repair itself, but now it has and it's back... With A Vengeance! (Add Dramatic Sound Effects Here)
Now for the pics. None of it killing stuff for now, first I want to know if it's improvement enough or whether I should do more work on it (I think the latter, but it's already over 2000 pieces so...)

Image
A pic of it with a Hestia for size comparison.
Image
A pic of it shooting.
Also, here's a pic of it before the front was put on, just to show the size difference:

I hope you all like it, any comments and/or criticism is still welcome. Oh yes, ignore the poll, sadly, I can't delete it, so it'll have to stay there.

wow thats pretty awesome looking, I really like the insides of those semicircles. Depending on how large it gets you may want to blend some of the parts making up the hull so they don't look like their sticking out but with the color scheme they really aren't obvious

Don't mess with purple. Just don't.

It's... more or less nice. It needs some fleshing out, though. It looks too fragile.

Wow, I got a lot more positive comments then I expected, I personally kind of dislike it at this stage, so thanks everyone.

If you mean the parts at the front that are sticking out, that's just the start of the next stage of construction.
Oh my...somebody likes purple a lot...
I haven't actually done anything in purple, and I wanted easily accessible preset colours, so I chose purple and pinks.

Sorry about that, I'll lighten the picture.

Oh yes, I forgot to say, but it is at 915 and can destroy (with some difficulty) Seraph's Memento Mori or Pantheon ships, but is no match against his Gilgamesh (in case you didn't realize, I've been using Seraph's ships for weapon and damage testing). Also, all of the weapons are, of course, modded.

It reminds of Nomads from Freelancer.

I was thinking about making the Freelancer ships(well the bigger ones) in BSF at some point. Never got around to it. Not to mention I haven't found all the ships in Freelancer yet(Kusari Gunship(NO), Liberty Gunship(NO)). And the various criminal groups as well. Nomads would be pretty easy.

Ya, I have engines (look where the thrusters are), but they're not very good or engine looking. Any suggestions as to what to do with them?

The freestanding pods feel a bit weird because there's nothing physical connecting them to the ship, but freestanding weapon pods are really pretty standard shmup fare, so it's more my personal aesthetics than a real issue, to me.

Ace looking ship, we don't see a lot of purple stuff. Can't wait to see the full thing.

I'm working on it, I'll probably have another step finished before the end of the day, so you won't have to wait long.

I've been meaning to do a ship with freestanding pods for a long time, so I decided that I finally would.

Sorry for the double post, but I have a new version to show you guys. Currently it's at 1343 pieces, hopefully I'll have it finished before the end of the night, but probably not.
