Its not about the armament of each individual ship. Its about the how well the fleet works together and the fleet strategy overall.

Beamers are dominant ships, but they by themselves are not enough to win well unless organized well.

We about split even with beamers and projectile ships with two bait ships. We have lots of flexibility and will probably do quite well.
Don’t worry it has airbags.

Well, that's correct, but we'll still have to wait. I'm still not so convinced that a combined fleet can perform well (or even better) than another fleet of top-grade beamer quality, although our team is rather diverse and covers a lot of complementary roles. And looking back, I'm wondering where two of our ships went to...

Dammit. Nearly forgot. Suicide bait ships.

Well, when you phrase it that way, we did throw two ships away didn't we?

Though I can't speak for Jafo, I never considered our ships suicide ships. They were lancet boats for circling around making worthwhile snipes against their weapons and they are good at fairly good at it.

Besides, who's pulsar ship is that?

I'd say that our weakest ship is turtle since Sanders disappeared. We didn't have very many options in making it fit in with our ships.

Sigh. I always felt that funny feeling every time I saw the Turtle get ripped apart by megatachyon spam. As if our team was making a grave decision to get rid of a ship. But seriously, those ships (including Jormugand) have been able to hold the MS's attention long enough for the rest to flank and start acting like pains-in-the-ass, although Jormugand was improved upon quite a fair bit, allowing us to utilise it's useful gatblaster spam which distracted PD. Other than that, our fleet should be able to beat the MS no matter what happens.

It would have been cool to work a strategy up around killing the mothership without using lancets. :D

You'll last longer if you start creating pain-in-the-ass mining beam or scatterbeam flankers. Those can really create havoc if armed with a decent amount of flak on them, which simply wipes the close-range projectiles right off the screen without much difficulty. And not to mention the mining beams' "smart" AI which gets them to target non-deflectored sections, and the scatterbeams "I don't give a damn if that's a shielded section" mentality which can do damage to adjacent sections, obviously.
Strideo's ship is armed to the teeth with mining beams. We experimented with scatters but they sucked BIG TIME. Seriously, they weren't accurate, and hit unshielded sections for tiny fractions of a second at a time, at lame-ass damage levels. Mining beams were half the price, more accurate and excellent at bunching together damage on un-shielded sections.

We also used mega beams, standard beams, a few scatters, drivers and of course Lloyd16's mega tach.

Woot, with all the usual casualties. Well done, guys. Now if only we oculd have done it without lancet whoring.

I really love that mothership, look forward to the DL.
