*cough* Drivers are far from useless, because they can act as a form of PD. Pulsars are less useful in this situation than, say, against the mothership, but they're still one of the best, longest-range weapons in the game. I'd recommend the following (for everyone but myself, obviously, as the Iron Snowflake is a giant target instead of a warship):Master Chief wrote:4. NO PULSARS, DRIVERS OR USELESS CRAP - you're gonna fight fast pirate frigates and a Juggernaut
1. Frosch guns. Good idea. Small enemy ships means they'll last for a while.
2. Make sure to protect your ass - the pirates are going to be attacking us more to the sides and rear than from the front. Consider placing your weapons so they can fire at a wide side angle, while maintaining overlapping arcs in the front for use against the juggernaut.
3. Every ship needs to be smaller than the Iron Snowflake. Otherwise, you become the target instead of me.
4. Use flak for PD. It gets better and better the more you have, so if everyone is using it...
5. Use every shield you can, have few, large sections on your outer hull - this way, they can be protected.
6. Plasma launchers. The Pirates are going to be abusing the available Aegis as much as possible, making hardened clamshell ships. Plasma is the easiest way to strip them of modules. Unlike Lancets, they won't just bounce off of allied shields.
7. Beamers. We need to get through whatever PD they can throw at us, and beams are the way to do that. Beams for damage, plasma to strip modules.
8. Don't neglect turning. Get it high so you can face the enemy.
