So - Can you set it up so that it stores the terrain data as well? And an option to randomly generate terrain, or define terrain by item/position, with a way to describe terrain density/scatter for those asteroids and nebula?

Ok, probably too much, but I'd like to include the existing terrain in the encounter files...

Agreed. th15, if you continue like that, you are going to create the best freeware game ever known to mankind (...or just to me). I just hope the new version of BSF comes out soon, with the Encounter Maker.

I've checked out almost every single freeware game there is. This and Ur-Quan Masters are the best out there in my humble opinon. And oh go Feature Maker :!: :!: :!: YOU ROCK SEAN

That's a little unfair! Star Control 2 was one of the best games ever. Arileelalaylalooooooo.

And, We are all happy *campers*

:)

Anyways, the encounters already work, it's just that I'm having trouble with the file system. The plan is to stuff the encounter data and .shp files into a compressed archive but currently the archived files are broken. I wanted to do this so that you could retrieve the individual .shp files from an encounter just like opening a .zip file if you wanted to. I'm still trying to get it to work, but if it doesn't then I'll just have to merge everything into one file myself.

Does that mean that we can spawn any official enemy ship in there too?
