I made some new ships and a site to go with them. Links in my sig for the ships and Sword of the Stars mods.
I've fixed my sig but apparently code doesn't work in them.

All ships here and my last post passed balance-test. No Patrol crafts can beat 2 Pirate Gunships, No Destroyer can beat 2 Upgraded Pirate Cruisers, and No Battleships can beat 2 Alien Dreadnoughts.
Boston:
Weapon Layout:
2 Plasma Charges
2 Blasters
2 Point Masers
3 Booster Devices

The best selling point of Boston is the three Booster Devices which can boost its weapons well, and give short-timed, heavy, large area of destruction.
Pros: Can provide short-time heavy firepower
Cons: Weakened when Boosters are out of energy, vulnerable to attacks from the rear.
Frontier:
Weapon Layout:
6 Tachyon Cannons
2 Mining Beams
4 Point Masers
4 Aegis Deflector Devices

To take over the captured alien technology, Frontier has used many Alien technology to teeth it.
Pros: 6 Tachyon Cannons can directly attack the enemies' core, instead of fighting layer by layer. 4 Aegis Deflector devices can make the part permanently invulnerable to attacks
Cons: Vulnerable to attacks from the rear. Slow.
Jukismis:
Weapon Layout:
2 Beamers
2 Pulse Guns
2 Gatling Pulses
2 Particle guns

The special design of Jukismis is that the weapons are attached at the back, and give opportunity for backward firepower.
Pros: Can bring heavy short-ranged firepower, support backward firepower when other ships are attacking the front. (Convenience to attack enemy (right click))
Cons: Only firepower at the rear bring the player inconvenience to attack enemy (No right click), especially if there is only Jukismises. Vulnerable to attacks at the front.
QuadCraft:
Weapon Layout:
2 QuadBlasters

QuadCraft has only two QuadBlasters attached to it, hence it can give long range, heavy, all-round fire support.
Pros: Provide Long-ranged, heavy, all-round fire support. Fast.
Cons: Fragile, as other patrol ships does.
Repairer:
Weapon Layout:
1 Point Maser
2 Nanomatrices

Repairer is designed repair nearby ships, hence two nanomatrices has been installed to it.
Pros: Essential to support allied ships as it can repair other ships. Fast. Provide limited fire intercepting.
Cons: Fragile, as other Patrol Ships does. Zero Offensive power (unless you set the Point Maser into Normal mode, which can only give short-range firepower)
Zounia:
Weapon Layout:
2 Plasma Charges
2 Beamers
2 Gatling Blasters
2 Demeter Launchers
2 Point Masers (in the image it looks like one because the two point masers overlaps)
2 Pulse Guns
2 Booster Devices

Based on Hecate's design, Zounia has been designed to deal with attacks in front, rather then its side.
Pros: Can give heavy firepower to the front, especially with the Booster Device the firepower can be further increased. Long-ranged weapons.
Cons: Painfully slow, vulnerable to attacks at the rear, if the side is destroyed half of the ship gone, due to its narrow design

"The "Dominator" class support battleship is one of the newest designs in the fleet, based around a super-heavy frontal battery (most of which is contained within the heavily armored central section) that can destroy an enemy cruiser in just a few salvos. Unfortunately, it is almost completely undefended from the rear, necessitating an escort."
Download
On a less serious note, I think I won the Uber-Ship contest. Damn thing takes the FPS down to 5 all on its own. It makes the game look like a slide-show when it fires t something.

...wow. lemme guess... a hexagon covered in aegis deflectors, and demeters? good job :p
Hestia 'hvy battle refit':
http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s204 ... estia2.jpg
Cancer Battle cruiser: ( I refrained from using lasers. I tested a version with lasers and it owned WAY TOO MUCH)

better ship pic:

NOTES: ship is pretty well balanced with the game. Its a little below the level of the Alien Dreadnought, and can best it with the help of a Hestia, or a few patrol ships.

The Hestia Damocles refit. Designed around the classic Hestia schematics, the frontal prongs are extended and the entire design compacted to provide maximum forward hull protection. The Deflectors are moved in and mounted on the pontoon struts, and the weapons loadout changed. the current loadout is three scatterbeams, and two blasters. While the scatterbeams function well against massed smaller ships, and even against larger ships, they fall short against ships using aegis deflectors and the like.

New ships:
Arcas Delta:

Weapon Layout:
16 Demeter Launchers
1 Demeter Pod Launcher
1 Nanomatrix
The Arcas Delta Heavy Carrier sacrifice its speed to install even more Demeter Launchers to Devastate Enemy as well as fitting a nanomatrix to repair itself and nearby ships
Pros: 16 Demeter Launchers can devastate enemy at long range quick. + Demeter Pod Launcher can give even more drones. Nanomatrix can repair itself and other ships well
Cons: Very irritating speed, lack interceptors
Panus:

Weapon Layout:
2 Plasma Charges
2 Gatling Blaster
2 Scatter Beams
2 Point Masers
4 Beamers
2 Pulse Guns
2 Gatling Pulses
2 Aegis Deflector Devices
1 Nanomatrix
The Panus is based on Hecate's design and use the newest section to make it more invulnerable to attacks. It also contain a Nanomatrix such that it can repair itself as well as other ships. Deflectors are also used to protect itself.
Pros: Lots of weapons can bring heavy firepower to the enemy as giving various Combat Role to the Panus. Nanomatrix can repair itself and nearby ships. Aegis Deflectors can protect its front part permanently
Cons: Painfully slow, not many interceptors then other battleships
Zuylia:

Weapon Layout:
5 Gatling Pulses
4 Pulse Guns
1 Gluon Bolter
The Zuylia Gatling Destroyer can bring massive short range firepower to the enemy. It lacks interceptors make it easy to destroy. It is also vulnerable from the attack from the rear.
Pros: Can bring short-range massive firepower to the front. Enemy in front of this has seconds to live.
Cons: Vulnerable to the attack from the rear, lack interceptors
For the Campaign Editor, I have thought out how to implement it.
1. Let player put the initial ships and other backgrounds (Big sun, Earth, Mars, Asteroid Fields), and where player ships respawn
2. Set up the objectives - Let player select the objectives
3. Set up the events, e.g. reinforcements, jumping out

Again, all ships and ships in my last post passed balance test.
Hestia Deflect:

Weapon Layout:
2 Pulse Guns
2 Particle Guns
6 Deflector Devices
This variant has been converted for being more protective to itself, so it has 6 deflectors. It is early indestructible when the deflectors are with energy.
Pros: When the deflectors are with energy, it is almost indestructible.
Cons: Only really a very few short-ranged weapons, deflectors are installed outside so they can be destroyed with minimal effort.
Light:

Weapon Layout:
2 Mining Beams
The Light is the Patrol Craft with extreme speed but hampered with very fragile design and only short range weapons
Pros: Unbelievably fast
Cons: Only short ranged weapons. Very fragile and it doesn't got even any hull. Only short ranged weapons available. Low HP.
Light Repair:

Weapon Layout:
1 Point Maser
1 Nanomatrix
After realization of their light speed engine, the Light Repair has been converted as a fast repairer and defender.
Pros: Unbelievably fast, essential to support other ships as it contain a nanomatrix as well as a Point Maser
Cons: Zero offensive power (unless you set the Point Maser into Normal Mode, which can only provide short range firepower). Very fragile and it doesn't got even any hull. Only short ranged weapons available. Low HP.
Pandit:

Weapon Layout:
4 Plasma Charges
2 Tachyon Cannons
4 Particle Guns
1 Lancet Beam
1 Gluon Bolter
1 Gravbeam Projector
The Pandit is a Torpedo Battleship which is used to bring heavy firepower directly to enemy's core.
Pros: Plasma Charges and Tachyon Cannons can directly attack enemy's core, instead of degrading enemy ship layer by layer. It has Particle Guns which can effectively shoot down projectiles. Lancet Beam + Gluon Bolter + Gravbeam Projector = Great Combination of Modules if used well. They also give various combat roles
Cons: Slow. Ineffective fighting enemies at the back.
Shielder

Weapon Layout:
4 Particle Guns
6 Deflector Devices
The shielder is purely designed to shield other ships, so it is a big ship with large structure with deflectors
Pros: Effective physical shield to other ships as it large structure and 6 deflectors. Particle Guns can as well as shooting down projectiles
Cons: Zero offensive power (unless you set the Particle Guns into Normal Mode, which can only provide short range firepower).
Zuylia D:

Weapon Layout:
2 Pulse Guns
3 Gatling Pulse
2 Particle Guns
2 Deflector Devices
The Zuylia D is a defensive variant of Zuylia so turrets at the back side has been replaced with Particle Guns and Deflector Devices.
Pros: Deflector can protect itself well. Particle Guns can shoot down projectiles, but it can still give heavy short range firepower to the front.
Cons: Only short-ranged weapons available. Vulnerable to attacks from the rear.

Here are some ships I came up with too, they seem to be good for this thread since I tried to make them "in-universe" of Battleships Forever rather than shoe-horning in other universe's ships:
Escort Carrier

A civilian cargo carrier converted into a Demeter Drone carrier
Escort Platform Carrier

A civilian cargo carrier converted to carry platform fabricators
Q-Ship

A disguised privateer converted from a civilian cargo vessel.
"Hastia" (Hasty Hestia)

A captured Hestia derelict hastily rebuilt into a makeshift dreadnought with whatever materials and weapons were on hand.
"Light Hastia"

A captured Hestia derelict rebuilt into a light patrol destroyer with whatever materials and weapons were on hand.
Enforcer

A cheap, light patrol destroyer derived from the well-proven Hestia design.
EDIT: In keeping with the naming scheme used in Battleships Forever, The "Enforcer" (which I used in reference to the Star Wars ship class) is now renamed "Acantha"
Super Oenone

An attempt to rectify the deficiencies of the Oenone destroyer; the end result is arguably competitive with the Hestia.
EDIT: The "Super Oenone" is now renamed Oenopion

A new ship:
Super Hestia

Essentially a Hestia destroyer expanded into a dreadnought, meant to replace the Zeus. Although lacking in forward firepower compared to the Cronus and Hectate, it packs a hard rearward punch.
EDIT: The "Super Hestia" is now renamed "Herakles"

Hello there everyone. I'm quite new to Battleships Forever (I only discovered it about a week ago) and I have to say it's a great freeware game, right up there with the likes of Grid Wars 2, Win Trek, One Girl Army and this game's inspiration Warning Forever.
Anyway, I recently downloaded Shipmaker 1.6 and one of the first things I wanted to do was to create a destroyer that had demeters. I thought of recreating the drone frigate from Homeworld: Cataclysm and I came up with this...
http://img238.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... atenh7.jpg
http://img368.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... rcspn9.jpg
It's design ultimately seemed to take more inspiration from Major Hong's ship than from the Cataclysm drone frigate, but what the two frigates do is basically the same. They launch their drones towards its enemy, then close in to provide the drones with support fire from their conventional weapons.
However, I currently don't have a proper name for it (which would probably be the name of a Greek Olympian god or a Titan as that's what all of the game's 'canon' ships are named after).
Also, I'd really like some pointers in balancing it. Here's full run down of it's current stats...
Working name: Drone Frigate
Class: Destroyer
Purpose: Demeter carrier and fire support unit
HP: 250
Speed: 2
Turning: 1
Acceleration: 0.06
AI Range: 800 (the same as the blasters)
Description: None as yet...
Armaments:
3 demeter drone launchers
2 blaster cannons
2 particle guns
Again, I'm not sure how balanced it is. I do know, however, that it can. in it's current state, beat a pirate cruiser (upgraded or not) from the front, but cannot, unlike the hestia, defeat an alien dreadnought, even when using tactics, due to the fragility of the hull. It also had to do a lot of strafing to beat the alien bombardment ship, again due to the fragility of the hull.
Also, if a design like this (a destroyer with demeters) were to be implemented into the game, it's design probably doesn't quite gel with those of the Hestia, Helios, Oenone and Moria. You'd probably do better to create the 'Moria Y' or something similar. In fact, making the demeter destroyer a Moria refit would probably make a lot more sense because the Moria would seem to have a lot more internal space than the Hestia or Oenone.
Anyway, I've rambled long enough. What do think? And how can I balance it better?

New Ships, and most of the ship designs posted before have been modified
Escort Carrier

- two Demeter launchers removed and replaced with particle guns
- stats changed to be identical to standard civilian freighter
Escort Platform Carrier

- stats changed to be identical to standard civilian freighter
Q-Ship

- stats changed to be identical to standard civilian freighter (given its Q-ship nature, I think I made it slightly faster than a freighter though)
- armament: three particle guns, three mining beams
Ancatha (formerly Enforcer)

- files now reflect name change
- two particle guns removed
- forward blaster replaced by beamer
Oenopion (formerly Super Oenone)

- files now reflect name change
- two beamers removed and other minor weapons adjustments
Herakles (formerly Super Hestia)

- files now reflect name change
- ship HP reduced to 450
And now, for the new ships!
Nereus

After encountering Alien Dreadnoughts supporting priate admiral Nagaya (or whoever the hell he is), the admiralty initiated "Project Hades" to develop combat vessels better able to defeat Aegis-equipped alien ships. Expecting a slew of new dreadnoughts armed to the teeth, the admiralty was surprised when one of the design teams submitted a small, modestly armed patrol vessel also submitted as a hopeful Zelus replacement - the Nereus. Compared to the Zelus, the Nereus is somewhat slower and lacking in firepower with only two pulse guns, but gains a stronger hull and better defense against projectile weaponry with the addition of two particle guns. Designed to flank Aegis-shielded dreadnoughts en-masse and attack their generators, the Nereus is also useful as a general patrol vessel.
Zelus Sigma

Upon hearing of the Nereus, the team responsible for the design of the Zelus responded by similarly arming the veteran patrol ship. Retaining the speed, maneuverability, and hull strength of the Zelus, the new variant trades in two Gatling plasma turrets for two particle gun turrets to offer improved defensive protection.
EDIT: renamed because of oversight (D'oh!)
Thanatos

A development of "Project Hades," the Thanatos is an expansion of the Herakles frame (itself already an expansion of the proven Hestia frame). The goal of the Thanatos is to hopefully better counter Alien Dreadnoughts with evenly distributed firing arcs.
I might have to go in and re-balance this. Yeah, it has a lot of weapons but on each firing arc the firepower really isn't all that great. However, I may remove some of the scatter beamers and make other weapons adjustments
Hephaestus

This variant of the Thanatos reduces some of the weaponry, particularly on the rear and side arcs, in order to equip Aegis deflectors in a manner similar to the Athena.
EDIT: Re-named because I felt like it
Anyway, tell me what you guys think, and I'll make further adjustments and upload the files.
Escort Carrier
