Can't see the gatling blaster on the list, but the back sprite is definitely included with standard game, it's the only DS section I believe.

Editing post for something I just built. Uncoloured as of yet, but it's rather small and might fit the general style.

I think it comes close to a pirate version of the alien raider (the one with 3 repeaters)

Quite frankly I wonder why I ever began making ships for this. You see, my work never becomes quite as good as I feel it deserves to.

Well, they aren't in the OP, but they're in one of the changelogs.

I had some issues when I encountered the Stormcloud Cruiser - framerate dropped down to ~20 with it on-screen and several weapons (forward pair of pulse guns, I think) were left floating (still working and moving with the ship, but no sections underneath) after the front section of the ship was destroyed.

(not sure if I should be posting this here or in one of the other threads)

Yea I noticed that too. Was just a parenting mistake on my part.
I don't know about the lag though.

The lag seemed to be a one-off thing - I encountered another one in a different system and didn't experience any framerate drops.

The first time I ran into one was around some asteroids and a planet in the background... but I've been in some more intensive battles (3+ large enemy ships, asteroids, explosions everywhere) and had no issues.
Maybe my CPU went into idle mode or something.

It seems that some of the more detailed ships are quite fragile and easy to kill
the colonizer for example, while large and seems heavily armed,a moderately upgraded ship destroys it in mere seconds.

You know, sometimes the looks don't tell you much, suppose it's meant to be like this.

PS: th15, that is one awesome game. I can see this work, but I'd love to see some kind of 'build your own ships' kind of thing.
But then, that's just me.

It's not like he made that before.

I had to drastically reduce the hp of the stormcloud ships because otherwise they'd have like 20 times more total health than any other ship. which was ridiculous. as a result, each section on those ships has only like 20hp.

having densely packed overlapping sections is something i would like to avoid with ship designs. aside from my problem with the amount of health they end up having, i think they are a poor experience for players to destroy. what happens is that you destroy a section, you get a nice satisfying explosion, then it looks like nothing changed because theres another overlapping section in more or less the same spot. I would like sections to be less dense so that the shape of the ship visibly changes with each section lost.

Sounds reasonable i guess, a personal idea of mines, expand the galaxy map a bit and save the Stormcloud ships for the advanced/end sections of the map around the edges, they that they may have atleast some actual HP,because i can destroy swarms of them with ease in my ship with only half upgrades.

That doesn't change the shape problem. We'll just have to make sure ships don't have too much overlapping sections.

Good thing about it,more people could potentially submit ships as making low density stock ships is quite simple.

The problem is that It's difficult to make a ship look good without overlapping parts. I've been trying to do this with my shiny sections lately, but even then it just gets quite difficult to perform.

Yea i understand that. and trust me i want good looking ships for this game. just don't be gratuitous about overlapping sections and it should be fine. Also, if you find you are overlapping to get a specific shape, you should probably just request for a sprite in that shape in the spurting thread
