Machine's Bioship Sections

The following download includes:

129 static coloured sprites:
* 107 sections
* 1 bullet
* 21 turrets
6 animated coloured sprites:
* 4 turrets (2 animated versions for 2 different turrets )
* 2 doodads (moving eyes)

Small preview, well 135 images where a bit too much IMO.

Featured in the images are some weapons, non-animated (point defence pores, big and small "missile" launcher maws, mining laser eyes), animated (chemical blasters and gatling chemical blasters).

Keep in mind that the pack is not finished, I intend to add more animated stuff, specially bullets, some turrets, and specially doodads, like moving tentacles and wings.

Good lord, mother mercy... those are fabulous! 135... parts? My goodness, my mouth waters at the thought of creating space beasts... Oh, you are a miracle.

Where did you get these from, or did you make these yourself?

He said they were based off SC2 Zerg.

Hm...I guess it'd be a bit too much to ask for recolor-friendly versions of these... (ie. monochrome), not sure they'd even look right.

I made them myself, but I can't really take full credit, after all I used some screenshots, concept art, and even real life images as texture maps for simple 3d models, usually just surfaces, the more complex ones where cloned and rotated, used to make several sections from a single object at rendering time, after that I tweaked each section individually, a time consuming process, but faster that drawing them all by myself.

Also I was meaning to include greyscale sprites at a later date, I was actually sure I put it somewhere on the first post. Probably I just deleted it and forgot to add it again. Which is something I just did (adding the download to the first post), irfanview made this easy, the only problem I had were the animated gifs, next time I'll keep the individual frames.

Turn off glow in the options menu.

Wait, you can turn off the glow?? I don't remember seeing an option like that in the menu...

Its in the options menu of the game, go to ship colors and keep clicking on the "player ship color A" till it becomes "Ship glow" then set the slider all the way to the left.

Sorry for the necro, but this is important, now, my team and me are working on a mod for Gratuitous Space Battles, it is called Praetorian Industries, as soon as we complete it, i'm will make a organic race for that game.
The point is, Can i use these sprites for make a entire fleet of beasts and insects?

Actually, I've been mostly lurking, as I only log in if I'm going to post something. And because I've been quite unproductive (summer vacations make me lazy), I haven't had anything to post :P.

@Altahir:
Feel free to do so, but a PM would have been better. Also keep in mind that I did use several images as textures, mostly Blizzard's renders, but also some random bug images I found on the net and stored in a texture folder (to which I don't know the authors).

Anyway being unproductive doesn't mean I haven't done anything, I've been messing around with rendered inorganic sections, but I'm not really happy about them, as they look way too flat in comparison to the organic sections.

About the textures, i think that those fit perfectly with the type of textures used for Gratuitous Space Battles, a really good work, btw.
Then, Blizzard's will recieve the credit by "Principal original texture source" and you, Machine, will recieve the credit by the "section/weapon making" and by "Secondary original texture source".
That is Ok for you?
Tell me if you want to change something about the credits :wink:

As i already said, i'm actually working on another mod, "Praetorian Industries", but after finish it i will start a new mod called "The Plague" using your sections, it will be one of the first Organic races of the game, and the first insectoid race ever :)
