Any attempts to blatantly (or even not-so-blatantly) abuse the rules are illegal, yes.

Remember these are real ships, so they should look the part.

What about section merging to make sections larger but with the same level of detail, since many small and nice looking details need to be left out to make ships that are combat worthy.

Acceptable, as long as the ship is not merged into one (or several) giant sections. Just use common sense, please.

I'd suggest splitting the big centerpiece (the kinda U-shaped one) and the "neck" connector that has the vulcan on it on the E-Class up a bit, but otherwise the custom sections seem fairly reasonable.

yeah, the centre piece is a little large i thought, i'll split it in half. not sure what to do with the gun mount bit, the only sections i've merged into that are the hm_robobits tubey thing underneath (which was a 10hp aesthetics section anyway) and the weapon mounts on top, which aren't really necessary

I know I'm not a designated shipbuilder, but would it be ok to post up a frigate/destroyer with a couple variants that I cobbled together just now out of boredom? I know they won't probably be used but just to share them as ideas before the game gets started. I'd put them in the rules thread but then in the rare chance that they were used then the AA could see them so.

Arty version, no point posting all the pics cause only the main gun and the speed/etc stats change.

Ed: New download cause I managed to do something horrific without noticing to the beamer variant (discovered to be a burst value of 90!!), fixed now. Ed2: Redid weapon positions too something abit more sensible.

Congrats! Youve been promoted to head designer for a car company! Now for your first design are you going to cover the car in tires? In axles? In bumpers? NO! Your going design something that uses the right parts for the right places.

You may want to update your ships, SS, or I can do it for you. Reload times on demeters are now 240 instead of 120.
