[YMIR] You mustn't run away! [Adeptus Evangelion]
If you've ever wanted to roleplay psychologically challenged teenagers piloting giant biological robots providing the last defense line of earth, you've come to the right place!
I'm going to be running Adeptus Evangelion, a homebrewed plugin for Dark Heresy. You'll need the DH core, but it has absolutely nothing to do with Warhammer 40K other than the game system base.
You do not need any knowledge of Evangelion. In fact, your experience may be enhanced by not having watched it. All plot info is included in the AE plug-in in the PDF titled "Welcome to Nerv!" (Veterans may want to read over it quickly, too.)
However, not all information is 100% reliable, and the world we will be playing in is NOT a perfect match to the one depicted in the material. It's close enough for now, though. Just don't depend on Angel attacks occurring the way you expect.
I will be recruiting up to 4 pilots and one Operations Director per branch, but other pilots may make guest appearances. (NERV has more than one branch, after all.)
The Operations Director deserves special mention. He/She will NOT get to fight directly most of the time, but instead will be at HQ. The Operations Director is in charge of deciding where the turrets and special buildings go, how to spend NERV's funding, what branches of research to take, etc. It's not a huge amount of work or anything, but even though you fight indirectly, you get a great degree of control. I do of course expect the Operations Director to listen to the advice of the fellow players, though not necessarily listening to the pilots. The Operations Director's final role is the deployment and control of military forces in combat, including tactical control of the Evangelions. Whether the pilots obey his/her advice is another matter.
AE plug-in: (I apologize for it being picked apart, but I needed to delete a few chapters full of game mechanic tricks and plothooks I'll probably use. Everything you need to know is in there.)

Adeptus Evangelion uses the following chapters of the Dark Heresy core book:
* Chapter I: Not critical but it will help you 'get' things easier
* Chapter III
* Chapter IV
* Chapter V
* Chapter VII
* Chapter VIII

I've changed the AE archive link to one that has the same content, but the files are now named by chapter to make reading much, much easier.
Re: You mustn't run away! [Adeptus Evangelion]
I'll give the materials a read and will probably make a character, I'll need some time though. (Mostly been using the past couple of days to get myself in gear for Chiiro's RP.)

Definantly Interested here, will try making a character and submit it sometime this week.
Still reading through all the material.

Does it HAVE to be Tokyo-3?
Realism, seriously? It's a space ship game. Realism was thrown out the window a long time ago.
Re: You mustn't run away! [Adeptus Evangelion]
There will absolutely be a PC Base in Tokyo-3. This is, more than anything else, to drive home the fact that you are there, and the cast of Evangelion is not.Squishy wrote:Does it HAVE to be Tokyo-3?
I have, however, toyed with the idea of opening a second NERV branch. This will open the possible player positions from 4 to 6-8, if enough interest is shown, and if the players are willing to MAKE room in their schedules where need be.
I have not yet decided where the other branch will be, but here are some likely candidates:
NERV Africa
NERV Amazon
NERV USA Second Branch
NERV Russia
NERV China
NERV India
NERV Germany will exist, but will not be a selectable PC base of operations, however I will accept transfers from NERV Germany in your character history if you do not choose the Prodigy base.
NERV Norway, NERV Australia, and NERV Europe will also exist, but will not be PC bases of operations, and will not be possible to transfer from.
Re: You mustn't run away! [Adeptus Evangelion]
People who submit sheets by Tuesday will get preferential placement, since I plan to start it soon. After all, the TV series only started with one EVA.

Re: You mustn't run away! [Adeptus Evangelion]
Alright, I'll be opening up a second branch. I'd like some input on which to choose. This isn't a vote, but merely voicing opinions.
NERV USA Branch 2nd: Military base, Area 51. Does occasional testing. One of NERV's first bases.
NERV Africa: Observation base for most activities that involve investigating what remains of Antarctica. Publicly known about, politically important.
NERV Amazon: Biological R&D, Extreme environment testing
NERV Russia: NERV Aerospace Command
NERV China: NERV Supply and Logistics
NERV India: NERV Equipment R&D
There are two additional bases in Germany, a base in Norway, a base in Australia, USA First Branch, and there was a small base in Europe, but it was closed down. You are not cleared for any of their functions at the current time. Any other NERV Bases that may or may not exist are not known to exist at the Operation Director's current clearance level.
All bases have benefits, some of them larger than others, some of them have drawbacks. You do not get to know any of the benefits or drawbacks ahead of time.

Africa in particular interests me because it's observing Antarctica, or what's left of it anyway.
Re: You mustn't run away! [Adeptus Evangelion]
NERV India sounds like the place for getting a head start in toys.
NERV Africa peaks my interest due to its proximity and role with regards due the shit that went up in Antarctica. I suppose everything there is to know about canon Eva can be found floating elsewhere, so I doubt we can get any further exposition about the messed up world that AE takes place.
Unless you're willing to let us know that you're planning some specific plot and lore twists unique to this setting, I'd default to DA DA DA!
