So, I take it the version you've got up on here now (0.69c) is the same one you have submitted to the showcase, yes?

The raid highscores don't work in the version I submitted :( The download you'll find here is more up to date.

You won't win even if it is the best game ever posted there - the closed methodology and uncertain weighting (if any) of popular votes over time means it might as well be a random spinner...

On the other hand, we get a stable milestone release.

Apart from the three remaining missions, what features are there to add?

Shrug, such is the nature of all such contests really, even without the popular voting component.

Off the top of my head this is what I'm planning:
-2-3 more modules
-A few more weapons
-Last few missions
-Improve Nagaya encounters with more scripting
-Full shipbuilder content
-Encounter maker (progress still not getting anywhere)

Popular votes do make these sorts of contests screwy...

I mean, for one thing Soldat's become a bit of a fad lately so more poeple will be voting for that. Admittedly Soldat is a pretty good game as far as these sorts of games go (even though it's not really my thing), but it still means Soldat's getting a disproportionate number of votes, particularly votes in it's favour...

I think for the contest to be remotely fair, it should be by judged only by selected 'proffessionals'...

If Soldat will get a disproportionate number of votes because it's popular, good, and has been around for several years, then the voting process is working properly. This is a popularity contest.

i thought they take the average ratings, not the number of votes?

They could do pretty much anything, including I suspect completely ignoring popular votes or even having a predetermined winner. It's impossible to tell...

meh, kinda scary. A game could win that wasn't good, or a terrific game could win and the rest ignored....

I'm tellin ya, this thing better win.

BSF needn't necessarily win. After all, there are probably at least a few games in that contest that are at least as good, if not better. However, I do think it should at least get some sort of mention for 'best RTS' or 'best use of vector graphics' or something like that...

Meh, I submitted BF a little late for much voting. But in anycase the voting is only part of the criteria. I'm not particularly worried about the showcase. The whole point is just to get the game out.

Hmm... maybe I'll type up a letter to PC Power Play (which is a fairly prominent PC gaming mag here in Aus) about BSF.

Oh and also, maybe you should change your three promotional screenshots. They're incredibley out of date...
