NOVA class ships: Dat viymese

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Pretty much what Lactose said. Beef up that area around the neck, it looks kinda weird that a single section of that size can hold together two halves of a ship that are that size. Also try and limit the section streching/shrinking, those sections don't look too good when they're surrounded by other sections that have kepted their original size.

As for the colour scheme, this is what you do (this is what I did when I started building ships). Pick a colour, any colour. Then pick a shade of grey which complements the first colour you first picked. I.e if you picked light green then use a light grey, and if you picked a dark blue then use a dark grey.

When colouring a ship, pick the sections of a ship you want people to focus on, and colour them with your first colour. Then colour the rest of the ship, and/or including the parts that don't look good with the grey. That way, people will focus to the coloured sections, and ignore the bad sections.

Note that you should also change the colour of those inner engines accordingly, relative to the rest of the ship.
Those that live by the sword... get shot by those that don't.

I agree. And the glowing sphere on the front looks much better under that cover. More ominous.

If you take 20 minutes to edit the smsprites.ini file in the BSF program files directory then you can convert very quickly. Just input the paths of the SW equivalent sprites into the groups, then in the SM pull up the groups, select the sprite on your ship, then right click the corresponding sprite in the group window. It will replace it and carry with it all the attributes/parenting of the original.

don't do that. Use the built-in custom sprite management features instead.

We're a rather slow board as it is, and you want us to slow down further?! Fuck you running!!

DING, I think you got it.

What is wrong with your mom? I never had issues with people not wanting me to back up my data while i fix the comp. The problem is, however, avoidable: DO NOT PUT YOUR FUCKING DATA ON YOUR FUCKING OS PARTITION.

You'll find it one of these days. Till then, treat this as a School of Hard Knocks™ lesson in data management!

I have thought about that but I don't know where to begin!
there are over +80 peices,I can't think of where to begin, andi also have the half of the original UNMIRRORED hull of the Hammer of Dawn.
(FYI the hammer of dawn will no longer be called as such instead it shall be called the Sunset Destroyer the hameer of dawn was the Original idea for the ship that is mentioned above...)

At the time i haden't thought of it but the ship's file name is ND-01 Sunset
Destroyer...
the Hammer of dawn is ND-00 it is the BASIC LAYOUT for the FIRST 5 SHIPS of the series...
notice that in my frist ship that i kind stuck to having similar hull structurs until i got kicked in the head by intuesio and Lactos thank yuo both very much and especially to arcane who was very blut using a hammer to destroy my self-estieme in order to make me clean up my act thank you all very much!

I will be busy for the next four days with designing the nest ship in the Destroyer series

Why does Anna have a license to fly off handle?

Anyway, the changes have greatly improved your ship. The only problem is that it feels flat. Maybe try some shading.

I've had to turn off the shading because it makes the front of the ship the darkest and the back of the ship is the lightest...
in the sandbox anyway...
but thank you 25! :D

Unfortunately, I find using those features less intuitive than editing the *.ini. That may just be a failure on my part as I can't seem to get them to work, whereas editing a text file is easy.

Because he's usually right.
