From the guy who put the A to the Symmetry - update 8/July

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

This thing is turning larger by the second!
Good job on still being able to keep this style going while upping the scale, something I've personally always had trouble with when I'm doing something in a specific style.

By gods, what a monster. can't wait to see what comes out of it. Those are some nice custom sections youve made.

Its interesting how the overall size isnt really monolithic, yet it already looks bigger than most juggernauts out there.

Idea: Once its finished, take all the construction shots and put together a gif out of them?

Spectacular!
I've got to say, I love your style, it's industrial terran style ships done perfect, and this one is no exception.
The engines look a bit small at the moment, but I assume that'll be changed. Still, I can't wait to see the final product.

Goddamn that looks nice. Goddamn. And you do the internal structuring really damn well. Makes me tempted to give something similar a shot, but I doubt I'd do it as well, and it probably would end up rather ugly looking. And I'd probably lose the patience for it.

Thanks for the praise. It´s really not so difficult to build a ship from inside out, sure doing it with a asymmetrical ship ramps up the difficulty a bit but I´m sure it´s doable with an symmetrical ship.

It is, assymetrical just looks more interesting though.

I love the way you mesh different sprites together. I can never identify each individual sprite unless I was specifically looking for one. Even though it's asymmetric, it flows together so well. And even with 4-5 different colors, it still blends together. Bravo!

Edit: "Blend", as i'm currently at a loss as what word to actually use :? .

The bright colors? Blend?
No, they don't.
But they're good because they represent innards - color coded for convenience :P.

Mondaytime is updatetime:

I´m not pleased with the upper right corner of the shiparmor, I think I´ll have to do another custom sprite. Also tweaked the hull armor a bit.

Also, I´m very flattered that for creating a trend for internal ship structure that everyone seems to like.

I will use my newly acquired membership for the forums "serious business" to make a catalouge for my finished ships, perhaps a buildingthread too.

I´m remoddeling the engines of my former ships to match the current style, thats one of the delays for this ship.

Ninja edit:
The place between the two engines is reserved for a interchangeable module, like an booster engine, a support module for repairs or an additional hangar, what do you think?

This is great, can't wait for a download to play with! I couldn't duplicate this, though it would be interesting to play with the internal structure style... Have you considered adding an additional layer of detail by fitting wrecked type sections below your outer hull armor, so that the armor gets taken out revealing damaged armor, then gets taken out revealing inner structure? Might be too much but noone has done much with the wrecked style since tsa came out.

Ninja counterstrike: I like the idea of modular building. If something like this got into the metagame, it would be neat for mercs to customize their ships based on their missions; assault//salvage/capture/escort duty. Very realistic to what they are doing with modern warships.

Man this ship is coming along well.
The main gun still needs to be beefed up to look more Big Gun like, but im guessing you were thinking that yourself.

The rear end is looking great though. can't wait to see this finished.

The idea is one thing, getting it to work is totally another.

So even if the secret's out, if you can't bite the bark, you're no dog.

I'm definately not a dog:cry:
