Actually looking at the name rules most of the sections do actually meet the requirements anyway, and the ones that don't won't screw up an awful lot if I change them, so I guess I will be able to release them as an actual section pack. So watch this space for that.

I haven't done anything in ages so I thought I should do something, but then because I was only doing it because I thought I should the end result was pretty uninspired.

Here are two unnamed spaceships belonging to an unnamed alien civilization.

Interesting. Are those rear-facing "missile" launchers on the bottom one?

I could imagine swarms of tiny ships from those. Look like beehives. Either way would be cool.

Like Needle ships, automated little craft that suicide into enemy craft.
Just like a missile just less explosive.

Those are indeed missile launchers designed to look like hives.

More work in progress alien ships, this time in formation. Engine flares need a little tweaking.

They still don't have a name, and I'm not sure where I'm really going with this whole thing.

They're good.
However, they seem a bit too.. smooth, monotone, and.. I'm not sure but something bothers me.

Try bumping up the saturation of those exhaust flares just a weeeee bit :)

Is it just me, or do the ends of those flares look completely flat, rather than rounded? The shading looks nice, but the end-parts don't look right.

Yeah, they are messed up, I fixed them now, but you were completely right, though I personally didn't notice the problem until after I took the screenshot.

... Only complaint thus far is one of them(not sure which, I usually have all of them as a fleet fighting mine) fires a beam which seems to cause an error. Least I think thats what is causing it. ...
I know that this was posted awhile ago, but I have encountered the same error (well, I think) and can give a better description (I think):

This error has something to do with the red pulse laser, or (I think) what happens when it destroies a ship. The error I got happened when the red laser destroyed an enemy ship (the "Striker", I think) and mentioned "speckle golden" (a piece of debris, I think) as the cause. I tried to copy the text, but couldn't.

I don't think that is the same error. At the time he posted that there was one ship that had a weapon that used custom beam sprites which apparently caused an error, I haven't personally noticed any errors similar to the one you reported. Did it happen just once or can you replicate it?
