Thanks guys, I really appreciate the compliments and advise.
@Kaelis: Ya, I was actually going for rather generic just to be safe. Now that I know I'm going in the right general direction(at least compared to before), I'll try some more interesting designs. Also having trouble getting the shading right cuz alot of the pieces now are multilevel shaded themselves. Would be helpful if all sections lowest 'level' were the same color, if that makes any sense, so they could be used at any height of shading.
@Veronw: Well I tried adding some color highlights but not really happy with them. I also tried to reduce the blockyness a bit but my next ships will be more in that direction. I wanted to add a launch bay or something in the center but none of the sections look quite right.
Ok, unless anyone else posts specific criticism, I think I'm beating this to death, so I'm just going to post and release it so I can start on something different.

New ship. Its rough in places where I rushed and haven't gone back to fix stuff. Its also unfinished; I plan to beef up the outriggers some, and I really wanted a wider engine but it was starting to get too cluttered. The front of the outriggers will change depending on what I decide to put there.

Ok, I'm gonna release several ships shortly, but this is just for fun. I'm including the sb4 so you can add stations, shipyards, defense platforms, whatever you want. I'd also recomend messing with the hp and filling it with sections so when/if its destroyed it takes out anything around it. Or just sit back and enjoy the flaming dead hookers, your choice.

And this is something I started a long time ago and just remembered. It would work alot better if min/max targeting size worked so the mini fleets I'm building wouldn't target the planets. I'm also trying to find better images of planets and work out the timing for the orbits.
I took out most of the fleets and stuff I had throughout the 'solar system' but theres still a stock station in orbit of the moon and a firefly orbiting one of the other planets.

@Homer: Your right. The single planet works well with stock sized ships, but for the system you really have to use mini fleets. Actually made them larger to match stock ships but then to have them a decent distance apart had to extend them diagonally beyond the edges of shipmaker and it still was too small. I think I'll stick to building single planets for now.
@Praetors: Thanks for catching that. I originally had it as part of a worldship like the one from Andromeda, so I forgot to make it stationary. I'll fix that eventually. Ya I have some alien planets but its really hard to find decent looking planets that aren't 'dark' on one side from a sun, and are big enough to scale properly.
A new ship, probably one of my sloppier ones because I threw it together pretty fast. I know, another star destroyer design, but tried to make it reasonable. Any advice? I already know the bridge is too dark(its supposed to be rows of windows but this is a placeholder) and I need to add some coloring or lighting to help simulate the depth.
Help? I took it at default zoom but it looks really blurry on my screen and the details don't show. Any advice?

Ok, added a bit and swapped out the bridge, though I'm still editing it. I may reduce the weapons but really its about the same as the Athena. I know the screenshot is slightly closer than default zoom but nothing was showing up in focus... Still have to add some glows and color. Debating whether to extend the rear, and what section to put on the front since I don't want a split nose.
First version download up. I added a few weapons but tweaked their firepower so it shouldn't be overpowered, even with all the fucking bees. Try it out and tell me what you think of it. Was planning to build larger ships to go with it but won't bother if everyone thinks it fails.
