The Orion Coalition is a supranationalist state consisting of the Terran Commonwealth nations, the Vasadian Co-Dominion, and the Republic of New Solaris. The OC's original purpose was to preserve the economic prosperity of its member nations in the face of increased competition from Corporate Space and the Basarian Empire. However, the rising threat posed by the forces of the New Kingdom, a theocracy formed by a malicious cult acting in what was once the Rylan Industrial Territories, brought a new focus on military strength to the Coalition. The OC is attempting to quickly to turn its industrial strength to the task of combating the New Kingdom and relieving the outlying systems already under siege.
Vessels
OCN Consolation class corvette
The OCN Consolation class frigate is a lightly armed frigate intended for in-system counter-pirate operations and as an escort for larger OCN vessels. The Consolation is armed with two Beam Cannons for laying down covering fire, and a small missile pod.
OCN Assuagement class frigate
The OCN Assuagement class is Point Defense frigate equipped with two Point Missile Batteries, and a small Particle Cannon. While heavily armored against attack, the Assuagement‘s primary role is to defend against enemy missiles and projectile weapons.
OCN Alleviation class destroyer
The recent and unexpected arrival of New Kingdom forces in OC systems has not allowed the Coalition the time to construct a fleet of purpose-built warships. OC engineers began to cannibalize the Coalition's extensive merchant fleet as quick means of military mobilization. The Alleviation class is one such ship, and despite its freighter heritage the Alleviation has become a welcome addition to OC battlegroups.
