Also the SAR is higher-end in power, try using the Ashtic instead.

I'll consider that if Necro asks me for more tests. However, the Novians have weird tentacle-type ships, so size ratings are slightly off for that particular comparison.

All my tests are conducted by roles, Using core HP to test with isn't a good idea with the Novians since their armor strength is in the sections (and in turn this is balanced in accordance to the ships role).

Know wonder the torrent lost so often, you were putting it up against frigate's, destroyers and cruisers (coupled with its exposed weapons).

Finally got around to conducting tests. For a generic sense of OPness, I 1 vs 1'd them against the Mioran ships of same class.
I went straight down the list.
The Atheist - Neuron are all brutally overpowered, easily slaughtering through their counterparts. Yes, the Neuron cut through the Arasaw with ease. I didn't test the freighters, and only saw that the legacy is waaaay too fast. Well, all of them are actually.
I got to the Notita, which got it's ass kicked by the Flying Buttress, strangely.
The Particula's are all quite fast and quite overtly powerful.
At this point, I started pitting them against better ships, or two ships.
All of them. Every single ship. Brutally overpowered.

At this point you should take each one, strip them of weapons, then re-arm them using standardized values in the spreadsheet.

Crap :p

I give it one more try at cutting down their current weapons ( getting rid of them for lasers is my last resort). I'll look into the speed problem too.

The Notita probably lost because its an armed civilian craft with crap weapons and the Neuron is so brutal because it out classes your Arasaw (it's only for huge battle/lore) that and it's not finished -sry.

But yeah, thanks for the input.

By the transitive property, the Neuron also butt rapes the SAR Maelstrom too, as it is perfectly on par with the Arasaw.

Can you include the custom sprites?
EDIT: Also, what directory should the ships be in? (Due to the carriers.)

EDIT: Holy crap those ships are OP. Even the Legacy fighters are absolute killers. They move terribly fast, the deal a lot of damage and have an awfully long range (the ridiculously huge range is probably my main issue with them).

EDIT: I tested 2 of my ships against Redemptor, and they were pretty efficient. I tried 3 of them against Progression, and they got ripped apart. How? Isn't Redemptor supposed to be much stronger than Progression?

See the above posts and this threads title: the faction is a WIP and is yet to be updated since the last tests. Also your own ships are yet to even pass application let alone be judged balanced, therefore your tests were invalid. :P

I'm not saying my ships are balanced or anything, I'm just saying your lower class ship was more efficient than a higher class one. I could use stock ships to test them, in the particular test I mentioned my ships didn't matter.

If I tried to do actual balancing tests ,than yeah,

It also smashes approved factions that are ment to be balanced, such as the CIT.

I need to practice balancing anyway so i will do an in depth look at the Novians. Results shortly."

Edit: Sorry if this is a necro, I noticed Necrontyr's signature so I hope that it's ok.

Edit: Testing this against The Kriken Coalition. All I can say is that you have balanced it in the opposite direction. You need to do these things:

Nerf: Ship speed
Nerf: Gun accuracy
Nerf: Gun Range
Nerf: Ship range

Buff: Gun damage
Buff: Ship armor

I will bring the specifics later, but for now some things are "unbalanced" not Over powered. Yes, ships of the same size class cannot keep up, no that does not mean that the Novian always win, just makes for a boring fight. In fact I didn't even have to replace the weakest ship of the Kriken (the C1) for several ships (it battled the miner, spark, stinger, and I-varient Particula before blowing, and even took out half the Particula when it did)

Edit: I-type Particula just needs a definate increase in ship speed and turn rate considering its range with a good reduction in range. After that decrease the accuracy and range of those Photon storm cannons a good bit, and you should be fine. The C-type just needs an increase in the reload of those missiles by about 5 sec maybe more along with the speed increase, range decrease, and turn rate increase.
