Merry Christmas all!

Sorry to ask such a mundane question today of all days but i'm having some trouble getting BSF to work on the new PC.

Upon starting BSF the following Error box appears:

"Failed to initialize Direct Music Audio"

Clicking 'OK' on the box (the only option) results in BSF attempting to start but a BSF Error box appears with this message:

___________________________________________
ERROR in
action number 1
of Other Event: Game Start
for object GUI_MainTitle:

Error defining an external function.

Never seen this before, dunno what to do.
One thing I have noticed is that all my audio files are ".OGG" files (never seen these before either).
All PC specs are sufficient to run the game.

If anyone has any ideas I would be much obliged.

You maybe lack something in your folder.

I had this too. It happened after attempting to turn the music up from 0%.

Perhaps either the fighterbay release or the MIRV version from the repack does this?

This error happens when BSF can't acess some external file for some reason. It could be missing, but it could be for some other reason. Check your BSF folder, redownload and see if anything is missing.

I'll compare the folder to the one on my other computer.

Ok, I've brought over my BSF folder from the old computer so I know everything is there.
I now get this BSF error message:

___________________________________________
ERROR in
action number 1
of Other Event: Game Start
for object GUI_MainTitle:

Failed to initialize BGM - Invalid device number.

EDIT: And it appears that the initial errors are still present.

I had the music audio error once. It got it when I didn't have an audio device plugged into my computer. It went away when I plugged my headphones in.

Zal, your a genius!

Turns out, the new monitor hasn't got built in speakers like the old one.

Problem solved!

Had that entire sequence of errors once, WITH audio device. But that might be because the PC I used is slowly dying.
