question on EXPLOZIVEZZZZZ

i wanted to make a floating space mine ever since i saw the awe inspiring SAR mine in action. i have a feeling that the so called "critical subsystem" has to do with things making big booms cuz i see them on mines, fuel tanker ships and suicide ships. i have since created my own mine layer using a modified torpedo/ tac nuke/ arty, with bullet sprite being a mine and bullet speed set to 0. nevertheless, i still REALLY want to know how the SAR mine and similar systems work.

ugh.
step 1: make sheep
step 2: set speed and accel to zero (speed only goes min 0.01, but that works fine!)
step 3: set ai type to kamikazi and set ai range for proximity fusing
step 4: plonk criticalobjectmodulethingy and set desired boomyness
step5: enjoy booms.
