I'll add it to the Moving sections tutorial advnaced section: tails, tentacles, and stuff.
I assume that you want it to appear to be slithering along the battlefield with a weapon in its mouth.
If you post the sb4, I'll make the tutorial using that ship since the round sections are already color coded different so they can be seen. I'll animate it for you before the tutorial is released and post it here with an animated screenshot. However, if you want me to use it, you must name it and give me permission (You will be given credit for the ship itself).

That's actually quite easy, you just have a weapon with shooting disabled and with an alpha of 0 act as a driver towards a section behind it.
I'm sure Zalusai would explain it better, however.

I think that Miram is asking for something similar to the tail that I used on the "H 1", only in a snake form (slithering) instead of back and forth (wagging). I'll experiment with the concept. Currently, I'm working on bits that pop off the ship and spin around it when an enemy is near.
R-Type Final (PS2): A ship with two bits is shown from behind in a cutscene.

Look at the Bizac in my Sensei ships thread. That does exactly what he's asking.

I looked at it. It's nice, but there is no apparent download for it. (Or am I blind?)

Welp, don't I feel stupid.
Here's the Bizac and an older scorpion-like ship I named Insectorak. I think you'd like that one as it uses quite a few nifty things.
The Bizac really isn't anything special, it just looks really nice. The Insectorak, however, is a glorious piece of playability.
Here's the original thread for it. There may be some other stuff in there that interest you as well. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6463

I will look these over and see if they have something that different I can use for a tutorial (provided that I can reverse-engineer them and replicate the effects in tests).
Thanks for the assistance.
Don't forget to add these files to the Sensei post.

Meh, the Bizac really isn't anything special whatsoever. It's pretty, yes, but quite boring in-game.
As I said earlier, the Insectarok is much different. The DC mode is so ungodly fun, as this was posted what? Almost a year ago and I'm still playing with it.

I took a look at the ships. It should be easy to write a tutorial to replicate the "tail" effect that trails behind the ship. It even uses round sections on the axis, so this should be very easy (compared to articulated arms).
I'll write it in a day or two, after I run tests and take screenshots of a tutorial ship describing the process.
Critique (Insectorak)
Spoiler!
The first round section (near the arms with the "Critical objects on them) does not have a "dummy gun" driving it. There are also two overlapping round sections instead of one. You may want to look at this if you decide to re-release the Insectorak for nostalgia.
It has two of these sections overlapping.

The turret tutorial has been updated. "Snake Tails" have been added after the "Articulated Robot Arms".

A new tutorial has arrived.
Simple Drone Tutorial.
This was done at the request of someone via PM. It was difficult as it required extensive testing and is hard to explain without having some "cornerstone" tutorials in place. I hope that it is good enough, although it is a little difficult to understand.
