But this can be fixed easily by replacing the original link with the image link itself, which isn't really that hard if you have at least a basic understanding of the necessary BB code.

On the image shack page is a thumbnail of your image. Click this, then right click the image that comes up. Copy the url section and paste that in the forum. Voila, full size image.
Look Up
upon reading this:
50% of people will have scrolled up
25% will have looked at their ceiling
The last 25% can now feel smug because everyone else has taken orders from a little sig box.

That's not the goal. The goal is to make the thumbnail link directly to the full-size image, not the imageshack page. Basically what you do is you replace the url field with the direct link (at the bottom of the page) by altering the image link. They do ask you not to do this, but meh. :P

The difference is small but should be noticeable enough. If you can't spot it, look harder. :P

I'll use a C&C3 screenshot as an example;

Default code;

Code: Select all

Image

Modified code;

Code: Select all

[URL=http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/1209/nukeistheiwinbuttonvo5.png][IMG]http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/1209/nukeistheiwinbuttonvo5.th.png[/IMG][/URL]

Can I add that when posting ships that are very dark, it would be considerate to post a contrasting background behind it?

Okay, here I go:

1- Do not sound like a princess in despair.
2- Open shipmaker
3- click view, change background.
4- see the list of screens, copy them to your documents and win.

Just a quick question - I've downloaded Irfanview, but how would I go about converting my bmp pictures to png ones?

Edit- false alarm, all's under control, I'm not actually technology retarded etc. etc.

First of all, that is just a link to the page for the image on the Photobucket. To easily copy the image code for the picture, just click on the "Image Code" portion in the box in the lower right hand corner.

2nd, your ship isn't that huge. (Some of the biggest ships on the forum are here.)
And the ship has horribly stretched pieces and is repetitive.

EDIT: STOP FUCKING REPLYING! THERE IS AN EDIT BUTTON FOR A REASON!

If you guys are done nagging me about this I'd like to say this was my original ship, not the real one. It was the idea of getting a capital ship to my fleet, but since it was going to ake me awhile to get the real one, I just tested trying to post a screenshot. But now I know how, and thanks for telling me what was wrong with this one. Gonna make it more complex =|. AND! its no longer posted on my photobuket, so thats why you can't get it. :roll:
