Thruster sprites

I tried changing the sprite of a TrusterEx and it worked, but the sprite starts in the middle of the Thruster and spreads out in both directions instead of just one. How can I fix this?

By altering the sprite so that it starts in the center, like so:

I've actually used the spreading effect to advantage as a flare. I use two thrusterexes, one normal, the other rigged with a flare sprite. Ends up looking like this.
