Whenever I try to get engines on ships the sprite overlaps the ship covering up the exhaust and rear sections, how do I set it so that the thrust comes out from "inside" the exhaust?

Add another sprite underneath the engine/exhaust sprite. Parent your thruster to that sprite, depth it...

I would also like to add that the sprite you parent it to underneath is probably best used as the engine glow sprite. That way when the glow is destroyed it looks like the engine was damaged and can no longer function.

These are my engines.


I add a smaller sprite parented to the engine sprite, which is under it.


I shift it directly under (or almost completely under) the engine sprite. It's still highlighted so you can see what I mean.


Then I add the ThrusterEX to that sprite.


Then depth the Thruster, and you're done.

ugh having a noob attack. did all that stuff right but don't know how to depth a weapon or module.

While selecting a weapon or module, press "W" and it will be set to the same depth as the section it's attached to.
