New Custom Weapons Thread

I know, I know. The whole weapon-string spiel has been lost to the march of progress. It shouldn't stop us from showing off our novelty weapons anyway, though, because the new versions of BSF offer a hell of a lot of new possibilities in this area!

If you have a weapon arrangement that looks or functions in a way you think is particularly awesome, feel free post it here, preferably with a screenshot and a simple .sb4!

I'll start.

Beam Of War

It's a fairly standard "projectile beam" featuring a linkage between a Tachyon Driver and a Pulse Gun. What makes this one stand out, besides its ability to annihilate any projectile it touches, is the fact that it can also cancel out another copy of itself. In a dramatic, anime-esque fashion. This took some work because Tachyon Drivers can't actually annihilate each other; not alone, at least.

Just because someone, some very special retard who I won't name, doesn't seem to get the fucking idea, this is for novel and interesting weapon effects.

It is not for weapons where you just put 99999999 in a bunch of fields.

If I see that person post retard shit like that again, my abrupt deletion of their post will be the least of their concerns.

well, here's some screenshots of some of the custom weapons for my limited stock BP entry in action. these aren't neccesarily about getting interesting effects from the weapons themselves, but instead using triggers and movements to create interesting fire sequences, something that i'm sure will be appreciated in both modern and old-school styles of shipbuilding

Try making a gif or a video, screenshots don't convey things very well. You can simulate the weapon-fire trigger in ShipMaker by hitting the Q key, if memory serves.

Aaaaaarrrrrrrggggg, (punches wall repeatedly). It's not about the friggin stats of the weapon da**it, it's about what the weapon does, which looks like a freaking lazor light show. (and no, it doesn't have all 9's for each value since you guys seem to hate that)

Here, I even built a concept ship to try and demonstrate it better:

Unfortunatly, it won't spin like a lazor-light-show light unless it has those high numbers, so it only goes so far.

Builder, your expressing your idea just fine. The problem is that nothing your demonstrating is anything outside the parameters of the weapon. Your just firing multiple shots with wide deviation. Try doing something different, like an emp beam, or taking a teller device and setting clip 180 deviation 180. Now that will create a lightshow, even if its not original enough for this page.

Try looking at the original novelty weapons threads for ideas of what is appropriate.

Does this count as a novelty weapon? I tried to recreate the one that DOOD! built on his 'Oceanus' Pelicun USP Science Cruiser, though it's not exactly the same.
For some reason, I could not choose which way each ring spun, not matter what I did to the triggers and such.

If the Roman empire hadn't fallen, we'd now be using weapons like this. Maybe.

I think a PM is better, but generally speaking, you can mod whatever the hell you want as long as you don't release them.
