How is beamer damage calculated?

Post by TheBuilder »

I'm just a little troubled by this. I keep thinking it's like this:

damage X beam duration X burst X clipsize

Or at least something close too it.

They said, "Then learn how to use the editor."
I asked, "What is the editor?"
They said, "Life."

A damage with a burst of 1 does applies its base damage every frame. A beam that does 5 damage will do five damage every frame, so with a beam duration of 30 frames (1 second), it will do 150 damage over that 1 second period. Burst makes it fire multiple beams, obviously. Clip size is only a factor if it reloads faster than the beam duration.
