I need some help with triggers

I'm trying to make a ship that LOOKS like it has ne weapons UNTIL it targets you then I want it to move the doors so you can see the weapon.
and when It loses the target the doors close
nomatter how i try i can't get it to work so anyone want to show me how to?
(yes im new here and yes im a noobie) :oops:
I am a fan of the "Push F to fire everything" idea.

I really don't know why I'm thinking these thoughts,
but I do know they aren't mine...

easy

1. get the ship. depth weapons and put sections (the doors) over the weapons so they are hidden
2. use the movement feature in the ed2 tab to move the ship. enable the movement to test it in preview but ensure that movement is disabled otherwise.
3. here's the triggers:
on 1: weapon aqquire target
on 2: weapon lost target
off 1: movement reach target (self)
off 2: movement reach origin (self)
4. set the on 1 and on 2 trigger targets of the section to the weapon it is covering (right click and select from the drop down menu)
5. test in game! if you've done it properly the weapons should appear when they aqquire a target and get covered over when they don't

Almost: off 2 should be movement reach origin (self)

Otherwise the guide is correct.
Maybe I would add a non firing blaster and put the triggers to that, because now it will just open when it sees something.(I think)

sorry about that, my mistake i meant to put origin but failed...

yeah that would work with a shooting disable weapon. good idea actually; give it slightly more range so that the doors open before the weapon engages the target

fixed it. you didn't link the sections to the weapon with trigger links and you didn't disable moving. so these and it should work (it does for me)

EDIT:Wait... do I set the trigger on the weapon or on the part? :(

EDIT: ok heres my first test ship!
in direct control mode 1 space fires main secondary guns and f fires the BIG gatling guns
the main gun is conputer controled

EDIT: remember to open the doors!
in any mode push , to open doors and . to close them
I might change it to on fire soon

Select the section right click the weapon.
