Weird Error when loading a custom ship

Weird Error when loading a custom ship

First post, love love love love LOVE BF!!!!

I've made custom ships before without issues...here's an error when loading a new one. I had other problems with this one where hiding and unhiding the structure sections would cause them to go flying off to +infinity in the x or y directions :-(. Are there known issues with scaling stock pieces too large or something?

Anyways, it seemed weird that the error message came up with gobbledygook...what do you guys make of this?

(edit: oh! before I forget to mention...I was having the "pieces flying off to infinity" problem before, so I downloaded the SM4.0c file and copied it over the stock SM4.0 executable before encountering this problem)

Hi!
You know, that occured to me as I was writing my second comment...if that's ridiculously excessive, I'm completely ok with redoing it!

Would it be a matter of too many weapons/modules per section or overall numbers of weapons?

People have made far more unbalanced monstrosities than that which still worked fine. I should know, I'm one of them. Lightstriker was most likely commenting more on the fact that at that point it's not really a ship so much as it is a blob of guns.

When upadating, you're supposed to update the entire game, not just specific files.

Did you put some strange characters or perhaps some cyrillic/chinese/japanese/korean/etc writing in your ship name or description? You should also post the sb4 and shp.

Gm error messages usually spew the line that caused the problem, and theres nothing even close to what youve got in the code.



And yeah, it should be more like 52 sections 8 weapons, not the other way around...

OK wait a second

I just started over fresh...one normal core, one BSF_Stock01 piece of hull, renamed the ship from Hestia to Destroyer. Hit "save and load sandbox" and got this exact thing again:

........and then I decided to uninstall and reinstall BSF.....

...and now the troublesome ship loads fine....

oookay! Corrupted file it was!
