Ship Deployer...?

Well I keep on playing with the Ship Deployer to send fighters out but it never works like I want it to.

This is basically what I want:

1. Only to spawn a certain amount (I tried to set energy regen to 0 but it ether didn't work or only spawned 2)

2. To actually spawn as many as I want. (As I said before it only spawned 2 or unlimited)

Can anyone help with this?

ok, the amount that it uses and the amount that is it's max divided together will tell you it's initial number that it fires off. the regen value is how much energy it gets per... is it frame?... and when it gets high enough, it will fire off another. so set regen to 0.00001, and the amount needed to fire to 20, and the maximum energy to 20 times however many ships you want it to deploy.

mean while, when i try to make one, i set the file path, check another section/weapon/device, and come back to it, and it doesn't recognise that it had any ship set. saving removes the file path as well.

so first paragraph, hope it solved your problem. second paragraph... help?

The path is saved anyway and the module will be fully functional. It remembers the ship, it just doesn't display it. Bug, methinks.
Just try it ingame :)

Just don't re-open that ship in the shipmaker. It clears the ship deployer path bar.

It makes no difference - the path is saved, it just doesn't display it :/

The problem I have is that it only sends out 2 even if I change the stats or sends out hundreds in a few seconds... (and never stops)

Is this a bug?

also I set the max energy to 1000 and energy cost to 100 and regen to 0 (it wouldn't let me set it to 0.000000001 it just changed it back to 0.01)

Maybe there is just something wrong with my game I am downloading a new one.

It seems to work fine for me. As far as I know, what you describe would spawn 10 ships at the start and then no more. I'll try it my self now... and yeah, works fine, so it's probably a bug in your copy ( o.0 )

What's the range on your deployer? too short a range could cause problems with not spawning ships as the module never gets a target to 'fire' at. Regardless, with luck reinstalling should help :)

I set it to 200 once and 500 the other time.
I also got some errors that made ships keep on spawning forever and ever and 10 at a time (If the Admins want me to I can try to duplicate and put up a Ship file, unless the error was already found)

I seem to be having problems with invalid ship files when using the deployer. I make sure to get the correct name and to use the .shp thing at the end. What am I doing wrong?
