Group clone's actually in the right-click menu of a section. You will want to first select the section you want to attach the group to with your left mouse button and then right click the group parent and then select 'Clone Group'. Section replace I wouldn't know, but Zalausai seems to know most (if not all) SM functions. I'll mess around to find it in the meantime though, if you wish.

While Zalau does know a lot, he sadly appears to be absent at the moment.

I think I remember my dad trying to shoo me away when he was working on some PC's in the attic so yes, children do keep you from having free time in most cases.

Section replacement? I tend to use that, just open up the list of parts or whatever is that called by pressing z then select the section you wanted to replace and right click on the part you wish to replace the current part with in the list of parts

Edit: Parts everywhere

So it's:

- [Z]
- Select section that needs to be replaced
- Right click section in the list opened by [Z] to replace it with

Right? Or am I seeing it wrong and am I forgetting something?

True. I have had a few cases where I had a section and found something else fitted the place better (the few large, organised ships I sometimes try to build)

Group Clone: To clone a section and all of its children, right-click the section and a menu will appear. From that menu, select "clone group". The selected section and all of its children will be cloned with the copy of the original section (the one that you selected) being a child of the section that the menu was opened from.

You can change the parenting relationships by selecting a section and right clicking another. From the menu, select "set parent". The selected section will become a child of the one that you right clicked.

If you select "reparent children", it is as if you used the "set parent" command on all the children of the selected section. They will become children of the section that you clicked to open the menu. The selected section's parenting will remain unchanged.

Section Replace: To replace one section sprite with another, select the sprite that you want to replace. Cyrosleep was correct. You right-click the sprite that you want to take the selected section's place from the "section browser (opens with "Z")". You can also right-click the individually displayed section in the normal display on the left side of the screen.

Apologies for the delay. I usually check these forums every two weeks, but with a 8 month old during the day and animation classes (labor intensive) at night, free time has been at a premium these last few weeks. I'll check back in a day or two for responses to see if there are any more questions.

Zalau, you're still here! Are you still in the DGW thingy if we decide to actually do something?

I probably will not be participating in the DGW. I just don't have the available time to post roleplaying responses in the form of short stories nor do I have the time to balance the factions. I will probably hand them over to someone else in the near future. Kind of like putting them up for adoption.
