How do i add Custom Weapon Sprites?

Ok, this have been bugging me a lot lately, I'm trying to add new weapons, but whenever I drag a GIF (PNG just loads it as section automatically, so no help) onto the SM, I get a 'section, or doodad?' question. But what about weapons? Is there something I missed?

Thanks if answered.

Select the weapon, under one of the edit tabs, there should be a Custom Sprite field, if my memory serves me right.

You can't use custom sounds.

So how is sound determined, by the weapon you are giving the custom sprite to, or the bullet?

does anyone here have this problem in shipmaker?
when changing weapon sprites in shipmaker it instead uses the image "spr_Bridge.gif?

Make sure the weapon sprites are in the Custom Sprites folder. Otherwise, you get that.

He means "run it as an Administrator", though that's something programs shouldn't require to run.

I use a Dell Inspiron 1300, don't know why a dell would do it though...
Edit: I use XP

Er... Vista is an OS, not a computer...

hmmm...perhaps the fact that my .gif fles are .GIF unlike the shipmaker files is causing it...
(edit: yep, that was the problem.)
