Screenshots not saving...

Post by CmdrTimo »

On ship-maker, i pressed F9 after I finished building my ship, but there is no sigh of the photo in C:/Program Files/Battleship Forever/ where the shot was to be saved. I tried reinstalling the game, but I still have the problem. What did I do wrong? I need pictures to publish my ships...Help!

Thanks in advance.

Screenshots in SM should go to the SMScreenshots folder.

SMScreenshots does not appear in the folder, thanks anyway. I found the Snipping Tool for Vista to take pictures of my ships. Please lock/erase this thread unless someone wants to post something badly.

if you press F9, it brings up a selection box of the area to capture. click once for one corner, and again for the opposite. there will then be a pop up confirming that it saved. you can also press Shift/Ctrl (don't remember which) + "F9" to capture the whole screen

the nice thing is it saves in PNG format and allows you to crop out parts of the pix before taking the screenshot. but i noticed that you can't take in game screenshots?

If you're using Vista, its 'protection' facilities (like files save by programs into its own, temporary directories) might be interfering. Its also possible that taking screenshots on Vista will simply not work, but theres nothing we can do about it.

In-game screenshot method hasnt changed - press F9, and itll output entire window as a .bmp in your BSF dir.

Just as a sidenote, you of all people should know I use Vista a lot, Kaelis. I have no issues, but admittedly things are rarely constant between machines.

I am aware that you use Vista, yes. How is that relevant?

huh...well that's odd, yesterday i pressed F9 twice and then when i checked the folder, no .bmp files. and then later today when i tried again, it took the screenshots. really odd.

My point was, it works fine for me at least, so I'd assume it works fine for most others on Vista.

I'll support his statement.
(although my computer runs it slowly, not Vista's fault of course)
