You drag and drop them into the ship maker.

Open the folder that has the parts and drag the file itself into the shipmaker.

Voila! One custom part.

Unless that's not what you meant.

Sprites need to be located in the 'Custom Sprites' directory located in your main BSF dir. They also need to be properly named, refer to the announcement in Custom Content section.

Vistas overzealous protection may mess it up, so make sure to make amendments in regards to that if you're running Vista.

well did you have the game before this? if so, It is probably in a different directory. If you got the zip download, then it will by default unzip wherever it was downloaded, such as the temp folder. otherwise, it installs to program files. right click the BSF icon on your desktop and select properties to find out where it is.

Apologies for part-hijacking the thread, but where would be a good place to get custom sprites from: are there some on this forum for download?

Thanks

There are lots of custom sprites in your 'Custom Sprite' folder.

...I could have sworn those folders were empty when I tried to access them in the ship maker.
Sorry again: I'm not doing particularly well at the moment am I....

Thanks

^Carrots, you don't access them from within ship maker, you drop them in from outside :)

Explain, please? I still have no idea what I'm doing concerning these.

For example, I'm trying to use Arc's custom turrets, but I have no idea how to access them. Simply being in the Custom Sprites section doesn't really seem to help, and dragging the sprite into shipmaker throws an error at you.
