No. :? As Arcalane said earlier, the Advanced Weapon Customisation thread is for combinations of many weapons. Not for just a single modified weapon. And that isn't a particularly unique or original weapon anyway.

Yes! You can make "Pursuit mines"!

They don't last very long though. Use it when someone is on your tail. I think I can do the same with missiles, to greater effect.

This lasts much longer, is is much more effective. Two can kill a Raider when it is rammed. If there was a way to make it act like a pulsar (accel, then stop) I would do that, but you can't do that.

I haven't seen anybody do this yet, and I just came up with it while messing around with Tachyons.

You can give tachyons a really short lifetime and have a cool kind of blast effect at the base of a beam.

one question/challenge. can anyone make a projectile weapon set that makes a bunch of low-lifetime projectiles to make a "charging up" effect, then launch one of the many beam effects we've seen here?
would make a good "I'm gonna slice you, dice you, and bury you in two graves if you don't get outta' my way" type effect, and if they do get out of the way, i would assume that would make the effect naturally die away instead of launching the beam.

I severely doubt that is possible exactly as you say with those effects without some kind of scripting language, but I'm thinking shock beamers, tachyons, and maybe pulsars?

The only problem is that this effect won't last if the ship or station is moving and is thus only ideal on a station that does not rotate.

well, there is supposed to be a delay before the beams fire, so it looks like the weapons "gathering the surrounding energy", but yes, like that.

is there a way to force shock beamers to charge up automatically while the pulsars are firing? that might give the effect.

Im sure there is a way to replace the beamers in the original with shock beamers. Not sure, its been a while since i tinkered with this weapon combination.

Just to clear things up I meant that the pulsar effect would be ruined not the beams.
