is there a way to trigger sections to move based on the speed the ship they're attached to is moving?
think like afterburner nozzles or variable geometry wing systems....
if there is a way how exactly would i do it?
just another shipbuilding question...

I'm 75% sure this won't work, but you could try using a thrusterEX as triggering module. Purely hypothetical, I haven't tried it out myself.

You might be able to have a design where when a section is destroyed it triggers a variable wing system, x-wing style, and also makes the ship faster. The latter depends on that action also destroying a thruster module with negative stats, thus making the ship faster, which is something that used to be done but I'm not sure if or how it works now. It would be a one time thing unless someone can do better, but then most hull changes or boosters would be one time in combat anyway.
*edit* Actually if you used one of those silly logic gates or something might it be possible to have a delay that then triggers the destruction of another thruster, thus slowing the ship after use of a booster? Probably not but it would be nifty...

i'm not entirely sure i explained that quite well enough... so i'll elborate i want a wing on either side of the ship to swing backwards to make it even more streamlined as the ship accellerates kind of how viariable geometry wings on a jet fighter works... is there a way to do that? make something move/rotate as a ship speeds up or slows
