Hole of Death, the survival tournament!

Post by Hege »

------------[Deadlines, updates and other important stuff]------------
None at the moment, but lets see if we can get this thing started.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

This little tourny here is something I just had a random idea about.
The idea of this tourny is to survive waves and waves of enemies to reach out a boss enemy and take it out. Once done, the "players" will be awarded to upgrade their ships a bit and then get to the next "level" of waves and new boss.

Background story;
In the deep space, there is an area called the hole of death.
The area itself is very rich ore wise and ideal for any tactical positions and in habiting.
But there always is a but... The area is allready in habited by strange un messagable ships and creatures..
There are many groups who have tried to take it their controll for possibly merchantise, the bounty for this area is huge!

Basic information;
The off set takes on 3 levels.
each level has 8 - 14 waves, with slighty increasing diffuculty with amount and strength of enemies.
The final wave consists of the level boss with its possible assistants.
Incase this works out better then expected I might add in few extra levels.
Each level will be done in to an encounter which I will then upload.

Some of the basic enemies your ships will be facing;

Image
The parasite is the most common, a small, very weak and mostly "harmless" enemy you will see.
Their constant kamikaze habits and accurate beam weapons can proof out deadly in swarms.

Image
The Infected ships are the remains of the past attempts of taking the controll of the hole.
Thise poor guys are in the mercy of their new masters.
The only problem you will face with thise is that you can never be too sure what to expect from the infected list(yes, there are multible different infected ships)..

Image
The Spike Core fighters might seem harmless with those low weaponries but don't let them fool you.
Thise guys might actualy come to be the biggest problem on the earlier waves.

Image
The Blood tooth is unfortunantly the final ship which we can give a clear shot of its weaponry and modules.
What is know about is that it is some sort of supportive ship with main ability of taking off enemy weaponry and modules.

There have been reports of other ships small and medium sized ship sights but there aren't clear shots of them for full confirmations.

Image

we are still unsure what more horrors you and your group might run into.
All of this that is so far showed up is not all that you will run into, oh no, there are way more then that...

The boss enemies!
There are reports of three different boss enemies, we unfortunantly, only have a picture of one of them.
The boss enemies however, range between their powers, sizes, possible assistants and waves of enemies.

Image

Name; Bolt Driver

The first Boss ship we have seen is the smallest and most simple one.
don't let the size and looks fool you, though small, it might still be more then you can bargain for.
Unfortunantly, the only reports we have on the image is that it indeed has shielding system, for weapons and other modules? We have no data.

The waves of reaching the Bolt Driver will mostly consist of rather big and slow ships, but the Bolt Driver itself is said to be fast.

Wave information;
-currently working on-

The second boss is what we have no pictures of, but some of the survives descriptive it as the eyes that watch over them.
The waves to reach him might not be as hard as the first, but it is rumoured that as it is eyes that watch over, it might have assistants..
(I'm actualy currently building this ship, I will post a somewhat unclear image of it once I complete it)

Wave information;
-currently working on-

The 3rd and Final boss is a total mystery, so be prepared for anything.

Wave information;
???

And thats what we have on the enemies and bosses at the moment.

Building your ship!

Code: Select all

You will have 100 credits to start off building your ship!
Before actualy starting, you have to choose your ship type;

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Attribute--|--Battlestation----Battleship---------Cruiser----
Core HP    | 1 credit/50    |  2 credits/50   | 2 credits/50
Base HP    |      700       |       500       |    450
Max Speed  | -Not availabe- | 2 credits/0.25  | 1 credits/0.25
Accelerate | -Not avaiable- | 2 credits/0.03  | 1 credits/0.03
Turning    | 1 credits/0.09 | 1 credits/0.13  | 1 credits/0.17
Sections   | 1 credits/1    | 1 credits/1    | 1 credits/1
Sec.HP Base|      300       |      250        |      200
Sec.HP Add | 1 credits/150  | 1 credits/100   | 1 credits/75

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a blank ship, the basic Max speed, acceleration and turning are 0, from here you can spend credits on boosting them up.
When you have set up the wanted attributes, which should be easier on the stations, you can then spend credits on your sections.
don't forget to set the section HP's to default and then raise the HP's by the amount you want to buy.

Though only sections and attributes are not gona help you to defeat waves of enemies, are they? So how about dem weapons and modules?
Stations get reducions on prices when it comes to certain weapons and modules.

You can enter thise weapons on the ship maker by pressing E

Fleet shop;

Thats right, if you don't feel like wasting credits on building your ship too much, you can buy platforms and ships to assist you!

CCRP Support drones;
Armed with lanced and 2 nanomatrixes, thise weak ships are good for healing your ships and giving minor support during battle;
The CCRP Support drone Flanks with AI range 700, speed 3.25, they will be spawned next to your ship on the beginging of level and will always be replaced on new levels, destroyed or not.
Costs; 20 credits each.

Healing platform;
A simple weak platform with a nano matrix ready to heal any station or ships that is near them, unfortunantly they are static and will be spawned behind your ships on start of level.
If they are destroyed, they will not spawn on the next level, you will have to buy new ones.
Costs; 15 creds each.

Civilian Grand Cannons.
The civilian grand cannons are big powerfull turrets with high damage, decent range and slow fire rate, unfortunantly they are static and the enemy must be infront of it to fire.
One package contains 4 cannons that are put to a formation of your choice around your ship in formations of cross, X, diamond or box.
Any destroyed cannot does not spawn on next level.
Costs; 20 creds package.

Simple Turret pack.
The simple turret pack contains 3 defence platforms with one armed with more powerfuller quadblaster, a 360 degree mega beamer and a bolter/lancer platform.
This pack is highly defence and very recommended even though the platforms are weak when it comes to taking damage.
They will spawn in triangle around you.
costs; 30 creds package.

If you wish to buy any of thise products while entering a level, please say so when sending your ship.

When a team beats a level, they will be awarded with additional credits for each person to upgrade their ships, so keep a good hold on the Sb3's!

* You are allowed to have 1 aegis for each 5 sections, the aegises may not cover one side of the ship completely, also the aegis section cannot contain any modules or weapons.

** you are allowed to have 1 deflector for each 3 sections, you may not have declectors with aegises.

Overall ship rules;

- Please use logical parenting, if your gona place a weapon or module on a section, it must be parented to that section. Also, no floating sections, if a section is gona touch a section, they are gona have to be parented on a section they are touching..

- You can resize sections, as long as you don't make them too small or too big, the limit would be around 1.5 times of their original size to each direction, you may NOT resize weapons.

- Sections can overlap, but only up to 30%.

- You can parent as many sections on single section as you want.

- You can use any core you want expect the civilian and defence platform, also make sure the blue sphere shows up so it will be easier to make out where the core is.

- A single section, counting in your core can support up to 2 modules/weapons, they may not be modded expect for color.

- Weapons and modules can touch but not overlap each other.

- When upgrading your ship, you are not allowed to remove anything you have added on earlier.

Additional and Battle;

- The map is 3000x3000 arena with some asteroids on the sides. Your team will start on the middle and the enemies will spawn from the corners. The boss enemies will spawn from a small empty area below.
- Please post the positions of your team ships on the start of the level.
- ONLY 3 BATTLESTATIONS ALLOWED FOR EACH TEAM., plan it out carefully.

I'm in. Already built a ship, I'm so in. team 3, please, as a Cruiser. spent the exact 100 on the ship already, naming it the bizzare name Artunicle, because it was manufactured on an icy planet, originally for the task of exploring arctic planets.

If I'm not allowed in, at least I have a cool ship to play with.

What are the rules regarding upgrading of ships; are there restrictions on how much can be changed?

Oh thanks for reminding about that, almost forgot about it.

The only rule about it is that you cannot remove anything you have earlier added on.

The upgrading is basicly just building on the your allready excisting ship.

Also Flabort, I added you to the team 3 with "( )" s seeing how team 3 is more of a "incase needed" team.

This actually reminds me of an idea I'd had for Boss Rush but then scrapped. I'll have to think about it.

Though what does "Station Reduction" mean?

Its basicly credits you can cut off when buying.
If you buy Tachyon Repeater which is normally 7, but it has the Station Reducion (-1) which means if you buy it to a Station, the price is actualy 6.

I'll think I'll fix it up to something more simple like Station price.

Fair enough, I'll take out of the list then.

Also Flabort and Magick, I added you two to Team 2.

And if you wonder why (towards Magick), read my earlier reply to Flabort
