with 16 points left, cram as many weapons on as possible to distract PD... along with a few heavier hitters.

Say:
1x Dusk (mounted on center Aegis)
15x missile mounted all over the place

(replace missiles with Gatpulses if you run out of segments before you run out of points)

Missiles sound good - would you think they or the Scorpions would be more effective? The latter put out a lot of projectiles for the cost.

Ok, people, I"m on the team now. I'm not really sure what to build, as I have no tourney experience, but give me an objective and I'll find a way.

Well, most of us are new to tournaments as well - there's a few archetypes to cover, including point defense overwhelming, distraction, brute force "tank", etc.

Your best bet is to look over some of the other threads - Alpha and Beta have more experienced tourny players.

Okay, I covered it with Scorpion Rockets and, put another HP boost on the unshielded 22's.

It puts out an insane volume of fire, and doesn't suffer too much in return.

I've got a flanker right now, i'm tweaking armaments, but it looks like assault tachyons, and 2 flak guns. I'm thinking either gats or demeters.

ct4900, does that ship actually use the tournament rules?

Either way, it's got horrible coverage for the Aegis, too little space between the shields, too much health, and not enough weapons.

Also, we can't fix it for you if you don't include a .sb3. Not to mention that it's... well... your job.

I think it falls under the rules, but is completely worthless. We're not aiming for aesthetic here. If you're section doesn't do either A. host a weapon or B. serve as an ablative or general armor., you're doing it wrong. Also, Aegis is not a toy. Don't mess around with it, it's a tool, and a waste of points if you're messing around.

No it doesn't. 10 degree arc between Aegis sections as measured from the core has not been followed, nor has not covering the blue circle of the core rule been followed either. Two sections have HP=1050 which can't happen (base=200+increments of 250), so the two closest HP values would be either 950 or 1200.

Point-for-point, Dusk is the best weapon (IMHO, of course)

I tried a Light Railcannon varient of the Harkonnen, and it managed to defeat the Leviathan pretty quickly... but it sustained a decent amount of damage in the process (all sections besides the aegis'd ones were yellow, one section down. No modules lost)

Whereas the normal Dusk version beat the Leviathan faster and with almost no damage sustained...

I'm certainly impressed by the per-shot damage output of the Dusk. I'm curious as to why it's set to 98 - perhaps it's specifically the weapon for one of the bosses, or something?

At any rate, if you'd like to be our designated Dusk-gunner, that gives us one finalized element.

Also, since the team isn't full yet and two or three members have done nothing, do you think you could maybe work on a second ship should we need it?
