i went with frigate actually, just for the speed, i had to buff the aegis hp though.
mostly because, as far as i can tell, if the outer shell fallsl, inner hp won't help much.

The main defense you have is speed. Mad speed, deflectors, and PD.

yeah, i've been working on tweaking it recently, so that it has (unfortunatly) less dmg output (which it shouldn't really be able to use well anyway) and more speed and pd. However, i did have 2 questions:
1. does anyone know, for the 6 section per aegis rule does it round up? or down?
2. are those wave shots (forget the name) generally considered good for soaking up pd?

12 sections-24 points
4 hp boosts-4+24=28 points
speed of 4.2-21+28=49 points
turning of 1-5+49=54 points
Acceleration of .1-2+54=56 points
2 Aegis @ 8-16+56=72 points
3 flak @ 2-6+72=78 points
11 point beam @2-22+78=100 points
ai range of 400, ai set to flanking.

it was able to solo a juggernaut :P

edit: hmm... i'm faster but droid's can turn better (why is your speed a decimal to the hundredths? btw?)...
we should have them dual to see which one is better

also, are beameers good for sucking up flak or no?

Do realize that mine's selection circle is titanic due to the retardedly long tail (which could probably get shortened if noone else makes a huge ship)

My ship's speed is in the hundreds because:

looks nice. We're really going to need to get some pd overload though. I mean, so far we have 2 weaponless ships :)

edit: and, while testing it, i encountered the slight problem that not one of your ships weapons was even capable of reaching my ship, let alone damaging it :)

I think we should not try to intentionally make any pd boats. They don't do anything. I think we should all have a couple offensive weapon so they can take shots of opportunity.

This is a armed version similar to Natch's distracto ship. It doesn't work too bad and kills things pretty well.

Damn it. No matter how I rebuild my distractor/PD boat, it won't survive for as long as I would like it to. I even tried an off-center aegis split like the cuddlefish and the aegis still gets blown off. I'm probably just going to optimize the revolver weasel ship.

Look at Marble of Doom from the last tournement. It stuffed its crack with ablative armor. Cuddlefish does something else. Both only really work if you're reducing the DPS hitting the ship(actually killing the enemy MS).

i had to use the box of doom or whatever it's called, but that things stupid as f, so sort of hard to balance against :)
