Lloyd, I think your ship might be a little too piecemeal - we have 8 ships, they don't need to be able to do everything each, just to do everything together. Better to make a specialist ship. A little bit of conversion, and your current model could be a good, durable gunboat (blasters, cannons, etc.)

lloyd: Listen to HalfThere. His Idea could work out.

Thank you for the first page redo.

I think we've just beat team beta already, but they might have some tricks up their sleeve.

Count on it. We shouldn't even kid ourselves that we've BEGUN to make our ships work. Let's get our submissions in (see bottom of this post for larva), test, and then test, and finally start to pat ourselves on the back if all goes well.

AI Flanking.

Should do accurate and good damage overall while flanking up the bosses.
And if they get close, the drivers tank the damage from most of the protectiles while the beamers hurt em.

Hege, interesting ship. I'm not sure what to make of it, but hull looks nice (if a little under-compacted), and it's decently mobile. The weaponry is outlandish, but I can't say either way as to effectiveness.
!NOTE: double-check HP values, cruiser has 400 default for core, not 500. Your sections may be off too!

OH wait, you're right.
Fixed version

It should theoricly be effective with the teller missiles beeing rather accurate..

And the frontal sections are beefed up and will most likely get shielded.

This is the ship for mothership 2 (kindly provided by minja, from beta team). It should be the sort of thing we'd expect to see from the upcoming bosses. Try out your ships against it, and see how they do. (8 of them, since it was designed to face 8 100 point ships).

The larva did very well, I'll have you know.

Edit: also, styrofoam - your tester ships are somewhat weak, especially against longer-range ships (though they do decimate targets if they're able to get good shots), maybe upload another?

@ Larva
* Aegis shields may not completely cover one side of the ship from attack.

I'll ask Ix, but "may not completely cover one side is ambiguous. I took it to mean they may not be continuous.

It means a 10 degrees from the core opening. Just place a blaster on the core and give it a 10 degree arc for easy checking.

Well, assuming hte same rules are AOTMS2, we can't completely cover a side of a ship. That's why Cuddlefish has that tiny bit of section 26 sticking out over the Aegis.

Right, in which case Larva is fine, by the rules.

By the way, ASM, I pitted 8 larva against boxy. The result was very sad, for me.

Wait, so would adummy section parented to the aegis section put me inside the rules?

you mean 5 degree arc?
