I haven't really started yet...

But of course, I'll post my escort up over the weekend if I get lucky.

I've got several things going on with it, I'm just finding it ridiculously hard to find the time to put them together in a PM worth version (I'll try to get it soon, I have to worry about my cold war fleet too). Besides, as long as we have your motherships as backup, we can always fall back on one of them if we need to since they're already so good.

Well, personally I would feel that this is one of the worst mentalities to have right now at this stage of the tournament. Even if our current designs kick ass so badly already, and thus act as real backups in the event that we don't create more designs which are better, we're in no position to (as my English teacher would put it) rest on our laurels and wait for the other teams' motherships to reveal themselves.

I was just thinking of worst case scenarios; if someone can think of another breakthrough idea, that would be great.

Yeah. That's right. But unless we get really lucky and someone gets a brainwave of sorts, we're gonna be left with our current designs which are, I must say, rather efficient already.

I don't think we'll find anything else too crazy. The Mastermind plan isn't bad. It kinda reminds me of some sort of crazy multi-part boss especially when it explodes.

As good as my ships are, Boxy doesn't have the damage density needed to really kill a mothership. If I made a version of boxy for Com's Juggernaut Military faction, well... that much damage in one spot would 1 shot the Juggernaut real fast.

The Trilobite ships are alright. They are build so that their front is extremely well armored but they really get torn apart by escorts.

I think we need to figre out a way to effectively kill mastermind ships just incase someone else is using the same thing.

elecboy, sorry for not taking time to comment on your mothership. The problem is that it is going to get slaughtered by flanking, and it's really just a variety of weapons. The mothership is going to need to be sturdy and not be spewing out a little of everything (we have escorts to help with that), but it's a good start. See if you can think of a trick to give it...

trick eh? I guess i could give it a twist.

Edit:after extensive(1 round) of testing i thought of something;we can make it battleship-like

Edit2:I got nothin' but that high turn rate helps the flank so the flys at the back that live to tell a tale can face the front, again. And i don't really see anything wrong with putting weapons together as long as each serves a purpose at that position...
A valid point i think.
I hope someone blows a fuse and triggers some kind of thought that makes a mothership for all to remember.

New PM being sent!

@elecboy: The problem is that versus 9 enemies, it doesn't matter how fast you turn, you will be fired at from several sides powerfully.

I'll send you possible final Masterminds when they're ready, I just need to finish up my cold war fleet and RL business.

hmm...it seems that my time is shorter than you guys because my date is one day behind, not that i have a good ship planned or even have one at all. As it turns out, those masterminds do their job quite well.
