Yeah that would be cool, set a deadline. It's not really over confidence, just some mind games to make the other teams rethink there approah. I really don't see a problem with gamma having multiple ships per person. And I like the fact your wanting the ball to rolll Daxx. So yeah sounds good, lets see a pic of this all mighty team Alpha mothership. So we may plan on its destruction.
If it ain't broke, then don't try to fix it

I'm going to make a better version of it this week to fight mtheminja's one.
See the mind games begin to work already. Best use all your skills available anti, you'll need em once you see ours lol.

With our teams combined ideas, and few select peoples building skills. I don't think your gonna be able to even plan against what we have, when you see the pic lol. On the other hand, once we see your pic.......the rest goes without saying lol. First deadline here we come lol

As a compromise to those who don't want to completely reveal their mothership, why doesn't Daxx let us put scaffolding on it (maybe a max of 12 pieces), we send our pictures to him, he applies the exact same (relatively mild?) static effect to them, and then we get to see each other's mothership. That's always been part of the fun in mothership tournaments.

Here i stand, unnoticed in the corner i guess i do need to get a bit better thoughantisocialmunky wrote:That'd be fun. Our team really need to get some motherships going. Mastermind's fun and all but we need to come out with better versions of it or better strategies.(I doubt we can abuse anything else as bad though)

Good to see you, KS.
Right, now that Gamma have four members, I'm setting a deadline for the Motherships. You have two weeks. People can still join up until that point, but Gamma will have to prepare 8 escorts amongst themselves.
Now, questions:
Formation rules: the mothership is deployed front and centre, slightly ahead of the escorts. The escorts can be deployed in any formation behind the mothership.

Now, questions:
Standard (i.e. default) sandbox size arena. How big is the arena going to be? What specifically are the rules on formations? Is it just going to be you have to have your ship centered on your side of the arena?

My testing shows that with a large sandbox it's too easy for tiny aegised flankers with AI range 1000 to be the only ships left, leading to draws.
If people are completely against it, I'll change, but I'm trying to avoid people being cheesy and making eighteen range-1000 lancet whoring railgun snipers which can't hit each other.
Frigates are still an option, but you'll have to rely on more than merely speed to protect yourself from the melee.

Actually, unless your ships are drastically slow, railguns aren't even effective at that range. Neither are any of the other projectile weapons at the maximum limits of range. And lancets...they just simply become ineffective against targets which are fast-moving and deflectored, only being useful in detoothing the motherships. Whatever the case, I don't think railgun snipers will come up anyway, due to the greater effectiveness of...other weapons.Daxx wrote:If people are completely against it, I'll change, but I'm trying to avoid people being cheesy and making eighteen range-1000 lancet whoring railgun snipers which can't hit each other.
