@Natch, I tried your aship and its not bad. It has a good balance between ablative and clamshell.

It is still a little sparsely armed, It doesn't seem to have the capability to put damage out there fast enough. The chassis is good but the load out might need to be tweeked.

So, how's everyone doing on their ships? I came up with a great blaster ship prototype. :D

Like Commodore's lucky-88 blaster-spam ship? That would work wonders (for you, pirate), seriously...

Except the beam is alot more focussed, I don't know if that's a good or bad thing though. On one hand, Its almost a guarenteed section kill and it will volley fire alot more, on the other hand it is alot easier to take out iwth flak.

I haven't worked on my ship as much as I should...since, well, basically the only things I would do are armament revisions, or make a new hull altogether, perhaps freeing more points for even more beamers.

Then get working then! C'mon, do you want to embarrass Nagaya? He sure will get pissed with you if he finds out that you're slacking up on the design of your escort.

When's the due date?

Also, I have a uber blaster platform with about a 50% volley fire rate. If you want it, PM me.

Also... has anyone figured out a way to defeat mass plasma spam?

Flak+Move out of the way. I had an idea earlier; have flak guns with decreasing ranges, narrow arcs, or just far apart, to try and get a more spread out flak wall. Haven't tested it. But really, plasma spam is scary but ineffective. My newest ships (I'll fix the linky, I keep forgetting to remove the apostrophy and have to reupload) charge head on into plasma spam and are fine, unless my aegis busts (I might put some points in its hp later).

The main problem I run into is that having something that is wide enough to stop side plasma bursts slapped onto the sides makes the front Aegis less effective. My uber blaster ship is little more than a teleporting turret really. So its main defense against projectiles is a heavily armored, aegised nose section that keeps plasmas away.

Without speed you are kinda out of luck I guess. The main problems are plasmas flying by targets and distracting the flak or exploding at distance and make a big boom.

Okay, we should all be finalizing our ships and deciding how to lay out our ships, and more importantly, the juggernaut. You all should have PMs coming on that. By the way, DarkenShroud hasn't replied to my PMs, and he hasn't posted for a while... someone poke him with a stick  .

I trust there are no glaring design flaws on my ship? If so, pleas point out.
or, if you would rather me switch weaponry.
