Description:
Okay! Not much back story for this one. All you need to know is that your battleship has been sent to respond to a distress signal near Reckett IV where a large human settlement has been established.

Can you outwit your attackers and win the day or will their final onslaught prove to be too much?

Download:
Normal difficulty.

Easy difficulty.

Highlight for tips:

- A Tesla repair ship will be sent to aid you. Don't let their "ally" paint scheme fool you, issue commands and her captain will obey you. Keep this ship safe!

- A Marlin class cruiser was preparing to jump in right behind you so keep an eye out for it. Its extra firepower will come in handy.

- Small fast ships can be difficult to target. Why not issue a "force fire" command and lay down some pulse barrages right across their path! Just watch out for high speed debre!

- Your own small craft serve as a great distraction for the enemy. Rather than hounding an already crippled enemy ship you should watch for opportunities to strike a deadly blow to healthy ships when they turn their back to you.

Of course as always input is welcome.

played this couple of times, quite enjoyable. like the ships. i never seemed to run into any real problems, actually i barely had to move my ships at all, the fights consisted mainly of face-commands and targeting weapons and modules.
i like the fact the ships have a LOT of stuff on them so it takes a while to wear them down, meaning i put attention into taking down each individual ship.
good stuff. personally i'd ramp up the difficulty just a little bit. maybe make a "hard" version...

Cool! Thanks for the feedback!

If you have any suggestions for what to do to make it more difficult I'd like to hear it. For example I could add more ships to the final onslaught or I could add a few more to the preceding waves.

yeah, adding more ships is an option.
maybe an enemy that harasses me could also work, like a small flanking unit.

but without modifying/adding new ships, just adding more ships would obviously make it harder. and changing the spawnpoints so they sort of surround you.

and removing the Tesla is an option too.

Yeah the Tesla goes a long way toward helping you out and it turned out to be much easier to protect than I anticipated. I should see what its like to do the encounter without it.

Very nice ships here. However, the recoloured deflectors make them really hard to make out.

Thanks! :D

Yeah I guess I may want to make the deflector's colors a bit brighter for next time. I like the darkened colors but they turned out a bit harder to see than maybe they should have been, especially with a sun in the background.

decent encounter, although it leans a little to the harder side.

and how'd you come up with the name telsa?

Tesla, as in a "Tesla Coil".

Yes exactly like a Tesla coil. :D

The two arms of the ship made me think of energy spreading out between them for some reason. Then I thought of a Tesla coil next to a metal poll with the electricity arcing across so Tesla just seemed like a fitting name to me.

Yeah, getting the difficulty down seems to be tricky. One person will say it's too easy and the next will say it's to difficult.

Did you try the easy one or the normal one?
