i also have just finished a design that is almost immune to tachyons , and fights up close . and it is a cruiser .
hope we see lots of tachyon carring cruisers, cause you will not have the defence to stop this thing if you do  .
Nice to see a fair bit of interest. Due to some RL issues (School mostly ><) and all the other tournaments going on, I won't make the due date until afetr march break. Maybe even the start of April.
Few comments about that design. I stated there has to be a space inbetween all weapons/modules, and on that ship some of the weapons/modules overlap or touch.
Also, it seems a bit frail tbh.
Have you thought about reversing the cost of lancets? Frigates don't worry too much about lancets since they are so fast, but battleships do because they are slow.

You could always try a combination of round-robin and a single or double elimination tournament.
For instance, you could separate the entrants into 4 groups, have each group do a mini-round robin, and then take the top 2 from each group and set up a double/single elimination tourney with videos.
Just a question; though: Are the ships divided into classes, or is it anything vs anything? (ex. battleships category, frigate category, cruiser category) or (ex. whatever vs whatever)
